Angelina Jolie who currently stars in Changeling which is still being shown in Cinemas looks possibly set to star in a spy thriller. This Thriller originally called Edwin A.Salt and with the lead role to feature Tom Cruise has been in the headlines for months but it looks like Angelina Jolie will be taking over the lead role due to a break down in negotiations over the role with Tom Cruise.

Angelina Jolie is taking the part BUT subject to some huge changes including improving the dialogue and script that is written by Brian Helgeland of LA Confidential fame. She is aslo demanding the title to be changed from the renamed Edwina Salt by the director Lorenzo di Bonaventura because of the new female lead,  to a further name change of the film to Evelyn Salt to fit in with Angelina’s demands. When you are the current Queen of Hollywood you are able to make these sort of requests and have the film changed to fit the actress, as opposed to the actress having to change for the film. Whether the director will go along with this remains to be seen.

Subject to these changes taking place shooting will go ahead around a possible February with a possible release late 2009/early 2010 according to some sources. From the last press/media interviews of Angelina it looked like she was to fade out her career to concentrate more on family life but with this new role this doesn’t appear to be the case. The film is still in its formative stages of development and the lead actor/actress could change again, but if this pans out it looks to be another interesting Jolie role!
