Brisbane International 2009: Day 7

This maiden event to the WTA Tour Calendar and a maiden win for the Belarusian player marks a strong start to the season for this lady and big names such as Ana Ivanovic failed to reach top form on this event, but it’s early days in the season so far.

Victoria Azarenka currently ranked at No16 in the world is a fiery, aggressive, agile and gutsy player and looks to be somebody to keep an eye on when the 4 Grand Slam titles including Wimbledon  take place later in the year.

Victoria Azarenka could be the next World Female Tennis No1 in the making but the 2008 WTA Champion Jelena Jankovic probably has pretty strong views otherwise, and will be defending her No1 crown with vigour against all newcomers, she doesn’t look the type to do anything less. An interesting 2009 tennis season lies ahead!
