Underworld Rise of The Lycans is on posters all over London, this is the third installment in the Underworld line up. It’s essentially Werewolves (Lycans) v Vampires and this film is about the uprising from slavery of the Lycans to challenge the aristocratic authority of the vampires resulting in a sort of supernatural war.

Kate Beckinsale was in the original version but has now been replaced by the not so different looking Rhona Mitra.
Verdict.
Adverts everywhere round London, Lycans, Vampires and war with a sexy Rhona Mitra of Tomb Raider fame thrown in for good measure, all sounds exciting but with the footage we have seen it’s a critics nightmare. The first film was a bit of a mish mash but watchable with the Beckinsale factor going on, and the second wasn’t really much to shout about , so the odds of the third being anything reasonable are slim indeed, and with a change of the female lead from Kate Beckinsale to Rhona Mitra as good as she is, can only cause further problems.
Shoddy story line, cheesy dialogue, and confused purpose, is this a supernatural comedy or is it supposed to scare?, this film will appeal to hardened Underworld fans and Rhona Mitra fans alike, but we are struggling to find much else positive going for this technically poor film. Rating 1 and half stars out 5 Box office success? Could do surprisingly well………. but we wouldn’t bet on it!
