Miley Cyrus was in Washington DC continuing the Pre Inauguration events last night and was centre stage for the Kids Inaugral Ball/ We are the Future.

She performed in front of large crowd with Michele Obama and her two daughters in the front row, who are both fans of Hannah Montana which is played by of course Miley Cyrus. She performed “The Climb” and video footage is below.

This is part of many balls that will be held after the official Inauguration of Barrack Obama as President of the United States and virtually every entertainer in America has been commisioned to perform in some shape or form. No choice in the matter.

Top billing again goes to Beyonce who did a fine performance in tough conditions yesterday on Capitol Hill, she will be performing live tonight and will be the first to sing to Barack and Michelle Obama at the glitziest of all the inaugeration balls after the official inaugeration ceremony

The Sundance Film Festival 2009 which is being held in Park City Utah  has been underway since 17 Jan and will be running for 10 days with an end on 27 Jan. We’ll be highlighting parts of this event with film footage where available (one’s worth seeing) and of course celebrity spotting!

A lot of fringe type films, documentaries and other “film festival” type films, a lot of which are incredibly good and totally non hollywood, and some others……………….well not so good! We’ll be featuring highlights of this event, films that have caught our eye that the world should see pre release.

2009 Sundance Film Festival Film Guide

This is a very relaxed informal event which gets a pretty big turnout from directors and actresses and actresses and of course this type of event is a celebrity magnet and a good place for a bit of celebrity spotting.

Most of them are out of their native LA and combined with the chilled (literally) and laid back scene it’s a good opportunity to see some celebs as you may not have seen them before.

Paris Hilton has been spotted in Park City wearing some very to put it mildly “interesting clobber” and as everybody knows she’s not shy with her tastes in most things, and we have some photo’s of her sort of biker gear look walking around and doing what celebs do. She was spotted at the MySpace Cafe. Some paparazzi video footage of Paris courtesy x17video completes the line up. All gripping stuff!

The World No 1 who has been suffering from flu prior to the build up to this event played Yvonne Muesberger but won with ease with a 2 set victory 6-1 6-3.

Ana Ivanovic the former world No1 played Germany’s Julia Guerges to win in 2 sets 7-5 6-3 enough to secure her passage through to the next round. She is struggling to find her true form as yet but its still early in the season.

Maria Sharapova has confirmed she has pulled out of the Australia Open due to a shoulder injury.

British No1 player Anne Keothavong played well but eventually was beaten by the 17th seed Anna  Chakvetadze   . Melanie South and Katie O’Brien also British tennis hopefuls at this event were also knocked out of this first round.

Amy Winehouse according to a lot of news sources now has set up her own record label called Lioness Records and the first sign up for this label is Dionne Bromfield who just happens to be her god daughter.

The original source is The News of the World and this has been picked up by the highly respected Guardian which means it appears on the highly respected FJ Girls as a headline with some weight.

There is a video on You Tube of Dionne Bromfield with Amy Winehouse doing backing on guitar, it’s a raw video and we haven’t rated this performance in star terms due to the raw nature of the video, but there is definetly talent on offer here, she’s still young at only 12 years old at the time of this shoot and you know what they say “you gotta start young”. This video was shot by non other than Pete Doherty of BabyShambles fame.

Two huge names were in town last night for the UK Premiere of Revolutionary Road who are of course Kate Winslet and her co star Leonardo DiCaprio. Red Carpet photo’s, gallery, video’s and interview complete the line up.

Not since nearly ten years ago have they been seen together on screen since the epic Titanic film, so Revolutionary Road is a historic film in more ways than one. To add even more to this films dynamics, Kate Winslet’s husband Sam Mendes directed the film.

Kate is cleaning up at the awards at the moment and is hotly tipped for an Oscar, something that has eluded her throughout her career. She is a talented actress and has played a broad variety of roles requiring different acting skills and that requires an abundance of talent and we feel here now is the time for this actress to be rewarded for that talent.

Her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes with her “Who’s the other one” famous line referring to Angelina Jolie is now legendary and could be up for an award all of its own.

Big crowd turnout for this event with names including Liz McClarnon, Sophie Ellis Bextor,  Caroline Flack, Konnie Huq, Roxanne McKee, Camilla Rutherford, Jasmine Guiness and others.

Kate Winslet looks set to be interviewed by BBC Breakfast on Wednesday 21 January. Essential viewing.

Rating:

This film is geeting the thumbs up from the critics more to the point both thumbs up which is being reflected in the awards it’s receiving.  This film is adapted from a novel and normally these types of films tend to lean towards rather good but of course this depends on the direction and the close interpretation and transfer of that story from book format to film, not an easy task.

Essentially the film is about married life in suburbia and trying to break free without breaking up. From footage we’ve seen outside of the trailer it’s a ultra realistic, superbly acted, well directed film and Winslet and DiCaprio have that on screen chemistry thing going on, a natural thing not a put on act, this makes the film. It ’s a slow and involving watch as all critics films are, theatre on screen indeed it is, and we love Kate Winslet and rate Leonardo DiCaprio but this film just doesn’t get us foaming at the bit here for some reason, technically everything is there, but it’s that certain extra element that isn’t, just a personal taste thing.

Audience wise we think this has a restricted audience, its for adults and not really family viewing which marks this film dow by our criteria. A strong storyline that many people in this situation can relate to and getting critical acclaim but we are neutral on this one and not joining in the party. Rating 3 stars out 5. If you are a Winslet or DiCaprio fan this still definetly worth a look!

Barrack Obama will have his  inauguration ceremony on Tuesday 20 Jan 09 and will become the President of the United States of America. Off the scale huge event with global media coverage and the Inauguration Concert with an all star line up was held on Sunday at Washinton DC on the famous Washington National Mall.

With a whopping 500,000 people in attendance including Barrack Obama and wife Michelle Obama and the rest of his family. Performances from top names such as Beyonce and Mary J Blige amongst many others were held on the Lincoln Memorial Steps.

We’ve focused on Beyonce who was one of the performing artists in the line up and her live performance was singing “America The Beautiful”. Beyonce is also due to sing for the present Mr Obama when he finally achieves the title President Obama on Tuesday.

The pressure on this lady must have been overbearing, and performing live outside open air with pretty much zero acoustics in freezing conditions never really sounds as good as in a studio or concert hall, she is aware of this, but she did very well indeed. What to wear has got to be tricky for this sort of event, make a statement but not too wild a one, look regal, classy and elegant with just a hint of sexiness but also keep warm……….Beyonce hit the mark spot on!

Other performances included Bruce Sprinsteen singing the Obama campaign theme “The Rising” and Bono of U2 sang Pride (In the name of love). Other performances included Usher and Shakira, the pairing og Bettye LaVette and Jon Bon Jovi singing Sam Cooke’s song “A Changeis Gonna Come” changing the line to “A Change Has Come”. Others included Will.i.am, Herbie Hancock and Sheryl Crow.

 Mary J Blige was given the honour of performing the  right on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in front of an enormous live crowd and globally televised audience.

Top notch incredibly high security at this event with no chances being taken whatsoever with the Obama family behind a clear bullet proof shield complete with snipers on rooftops.

The main event is tomorrow where history will be made for the whole world to see. It’s a special day for the world but even more so for Americans. Footage will of course be here!
