As if winning 3 gongs at the Brit Awards and 1 Award at the Grammy’s wasn’t enough we now have Duffy in a Diet Coke Commercial.

She’s performing live at a concert and she’s been told she has 2 minutes for a break so what does she decide to do, she grabs a bike, goes for a ride including riding through a supermarket singing “I’ve got to me” then heads back to her gig just in time to carry on performing.

Just hoping this doesn’t start a new craze of women riding round on cycles with Diet Coke in hand singing “I’ve got to me”!!

The London Fashion Week got under way yesterday and is being held at the Natural History Museum and music was provided VV Brown the East London singer that is making a name for herself got things in motion but it was a subdued start to the event and normally is with the event picking up speed later on in the week.

We’ll be covering the highlights of the event and also getting the female celeb angle on this event, see who’s who and what’s what.

Names to watch out for are obviously Vivienne Westwood and the Newcomer with her new label, actress Sienna Miller who is due to show her new designs on Sunday Evening at prime time.

Model Agyness Deyn is rumoured to be making an appearance after her late appearence at the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week and there normally is a celebrity fashion charity gala, particulary worth watching out for, last year it featured Cheryl Cole amongst others, if its on, coverage will be here and on the main blog.

Naomi Watts is currently filming on location in Los Angeles for her new film “mother and Child”, one of her first films for some time.

She’s been quiet news wise recently, as she’s recently had two kids, but now they are older, she is back in the acting and film industry fray, in the spotlight, and she is back in the headlines.

Most people will remember her from her roles in the commercially popular films The Ring, The Ring 2 and King Kong, but she has also starred in some slightly lesser known films such as the oscar nominated 21 Grams and also the David Lynch film Mulholland Drive, a superb, clever but odd film that was her first film that propelled her into stardom. She tends to make slightly more unusual choices in films but supernatural and quality horror/thrillers seem to suit her very well ,but she is able to turn her hand to multiple genre’s, which is always a sign of a good actress.

Her latest film she will be starring in, which is currently in the process of being shot photo above)  is called “Mother and Child” and she sports a huge baby bump in this film. (costume not the real deal)  and this is a drama which also stars Samuel L Jackson and Annette Benning. It’s about three women , a 50 year old woman, the daughter she gave up for adoption 35 years ago and a third woman looking to adopt a child of her own. The film is obviously still in its formative stages so no further plot details are yet avaialble. It’s currently being filmed in Studio City which is in the San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles. Release we predict probably some time in 2010!

Rachel Bilson amongst other stars was spotted at the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2009 event and she attended the Zac Posen Show. This event was held on 19 Feb.

But thats not the main reason Rachel Bilson is hot news, although any reason is good enough here, if she was caught walking her dog in the rain, we would probably have that here as well. The main reason is there is an engagement buzz/rumour around this lady at the moment, involving non other than Hayden Christensen and top respected media sources are quoting this headline, but with a question mark on the end, so something is happening here.

She is looking even more attractive and smiley than usual, there’s a glow about her,  and of course the media thought that this would be the opportune moment to find out whether these engagement rumours are true, she has to get in and out of the event thats a dead cert.  In true celeb style, Rachel’s lips were sealed, and proved elusive, and no ring was on display, but the eyes and smile in our opinion cannot conceal that something is going on, and there just may be some cred to these rumours!

Freida Pinto and Kate Winslet both attended the 4th Annual Oscar Wilde: Honoring The Irish in Film Awards last night, its a fun Irish party and pre Oscars event that attracts some big stars. It was held at the Ebell Club in Los Angeles.

The US-Ireland Alliance, a non-profit organization created to foster ties between the US and Ireland, honoured Hylda Queally, Brendan Gleeson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers  and Kate Winslet presented Queally her award. Irish musicians Gemma Hayes, Laura Izibor and Republic of Loose  performed. Other names that attended the event included Abbie Cornish, Gemma Hayes, Marion Cotillard amongst others.

Not a top flight event but for us this photo capturing Freida Pinto and Kate Winslet on arrivals is one of those priceless shots that these smaller more intimate events can sometimes produce. It’s a highly relevant photo in the current awards climate with both Kate and Freida  potentially the leading stars of the Oscars, it remains to be seen on the night whether the winning run that both these stars have enjoyed continues into the very choosy and aloof Oscar Award Ceremony on Sunday!

Angelina Jolie has started film tests for her new role in the film SALT renamed from Edwin A Salt where she has replaced Tom Cruise as the lead role where she plays a CIA Officer in this spy film extravaganza by Columbia Pictures.

With films taking on average about a year from initial shoot to post production this has an estimated release date of Early 2010.

We’ll be following Angelina on this film production, as it gives a good idea what is involved in bringing an idea into production and onto the big screen. She has been spotted yesterday 19 Feb exiting the City Stage in New York where crowds built up throughout the day once word got out that she was at this venue. This was basically a camera test for the new film and the very early stages before proper shooting commences.

The shoot proper in various locations in and around New York city looks set to be going ahead in March 09. Philip Noyce looks set to be a probable candidate to direct the film. SALT has had various changes in script, lead role and direction and also film title change, all hampering this films progress into getting onto the screen. All part of the creative process, but with Jolie looking to be committed to this film and some sort of foundations in place, this film looks now to have some solid direction for production to get underway.

Angelina Jolie New Film Role Demands

She has been nominated for Best Actress at the upcoming Oscars to be held this Sunday and is up against the favourite Kate Winslet for her role in The Reader and also Meryl streep for her role in Doubt amongst other stars.

Current rumours are floating around that Angelina is set to spend $20M on some serious diamond bling for this event, whether it is to upstage Jennifer Aniston who will also be at the event remains to be seen. Either way an interesting Sunday looks to be in store whether she wins that Oscar or not!

Daisy Lowe is another Brit model that has been gracing the catwalks of the closing stages of the New York Fashion Week Fall 2009 along with Agyness Deyn as part of the Anna Sui Collection in New York.

Daisy Lowe as fans will know is not afraid to explore the wilder sides of life, and doesn’t really care if the whole world sees, the world famous strategically placed tassles photo is a prime example. Her latest escapade is a photo shoot for W magazine that certainly pushes the boundaries with a law and order theme being this months racy number. Daisy Lowe and Eliza Cummings feature in one photo and Peaches Geldof is also  part of this prison themed and very different shoot.
