An interesting website venture brought to our attention founded by non other than the actress Natalie Portman and Christine Aylward , a new website entitled makingof.com which features behind the scenes and backstage material of film production and footage with photos, information and videos with interviews and details of current films in production.

Something we thought would be of interest, as there is a lot of interest on this site in shots of filming “on set” and photos of stars actually at work during film production. This site makingof.com takes things a step further and adds a bit more flesh to the bones and gives you an insider perspective from the actors view point and is essential viewing for people who are interested in how films are made and what an actor/actress has to do in a typical working day. This site is still new but is getting hit on and looks to have some form of serious backing.
We do have a similar themed half built site quietly sitting on the backburner on one of our backup servers, something that may appear in the future but probably 2010 at the earliest as we have other plans before then, and this site makingof.com looks to do things better than we ever could, its from the” inside looking out” as opposed to the “outside looking in”.

This is still a very new site only recently launched but its something we are keeping an eye on here, and the site does allow embedding of videos so some of this material could be featuring on this site in the future to give another angle to this backstage/behind the scenes footage.
Part of some new ideas that may be appearing on this site getting you that little bit closer to these stars and see what its actually like doing the work that they do and the lifestyle that they lead. This makingof.com site is for the thinkers out there who like to know the mechanics and thought processes involved in film production and the challenges an actor/actress has to face.
