Rihanna and her love life since the Chris Brown saga is to put it mildly all over the shop news wise. She’s dating X, she’s dating Y, no hang on she’s not dating Y, she never dated X they are just friends, but  she’s been seen with Z down the local bowling alley, no thats wrong as well they are just friends, she’s not dating anybody, and she hasn’t since Chris Brown. The single news headline is the latest buzz and apparently any other headlines appearing in the media are utter nonsense, as she is happy to be focusing on her career and is looking to be pursuing a career in acting and hasn’t got the time at present to pursue a relationship as well. She’s currently working on her new album and has also got a new role in a film called “Personal Protection” which apparently will be filming later this year according to the New York Daily News, and she is taking acting classes to help her cross over into the very different film industry.

Thats the latest that can be established on the very much a “dark horse” that is Rihanna! For us here, the single line makes like a lot easier but something just doesn’t hang right here, but if thats the latest, then that is the latest!

Taken from there latest album Doll domination which was released last year, is the new single from Pussycat Dolls called Hush Hush: Hush Hush and thats four hushes and not two….very important! Pussycat Dolls are currently on tour in Australia and being supported by Lady GaGa, what a support.

The Verdict:

A little secret with our music ratings, you have to keep a cool head when rating these hot female artists, we play the video with no video just sound FIRST, then watch the video afterwards, otherwise with the current trend of these female artists pushing the naughty boundaries to the limit, every song would be rated as Five stars even if it was a total and utter piece of garbage.

Some old school links here with Gloria Gaynor and some reference to Diana Ross it looks to be. Some snippits of old songs thrown in but this song can’t be classed as a cover so it gets the fully monty in rating terms. May want to spot some people appearing in this video as well!

Very hot beginning with Nicole Scherzinger in the buff getting out of a bath all cleverly edited, we’ve done the freeze frame on this and its clever stuff, but you see zilch, naturally. Good video and a catchy tune, girls are looking good, vocally sound, everythings bopping nicely, we think not their best song but pretty good all the same.  Initial rating above neutral at 3 stars++++ but with the HOT:Hot Nicole bath intro which hasn’t influended us here in the slightest…honest, how can we not give it a Rating of 3 and half stars out of 5…………….but only just!

Time for a cold shower!

Ana Ivanovic played her second round match today in the French open against Thai experienced player Tamarine Tanasugarn and it was an easy victory for Ivanovic with the final score 6-1 6-2 with a total play time of 65 minutes, short matches normally indicate one player is vastly superior to the other. 4 tennis moment photos featured below taken from the event featuring Ana Ivanovic, Dinara Safina, Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.

Ivanovic is currently ranked 8th in the world and is the previous winner of the French open in 2008. Beginning of the tennis season has not been great for her with a lack of form robbing her of any chance to reach the final stages of tournaments but her form seems to be returning and at a critical point in the season with Grand Slam season now in full swing.

Femi Fame our Female Celeb Red Carpet site which has been subjected to our “pump and dump” routine we use on all new sites including FJ Girls in its early days, where we chuck out a dozen or so headlines, drive everybody into a frenzy and then run off  for a couple of months and see if she holds up. Site Nose dives into oblivion…..we shut down the site, firm interest even after 2 months, we have a winner and site gets the thumbs up! The news is there is still significant interest in Femi Fame  so this site will be getting increased attention in the future as there have been a lot of film premiere’s.  Design may be changing also! FJ Girls UK Blog is more of the same and will be getting more posts soon!

More sites in the pipeline, one that is currently a very boring looking text only celebrity gossip site we acquired recently called CelebGoss which will be a celebrity gossip and news aggregator site, a sort of feed reader in website form, anticipated launch Summer 2009. Feed aggregation will feature headline with link to original website with full feed credit. A handy site not only for celebrity gossip fans but one we will be using also for news headline research to avoid duplicating whats already out there. We are not keen on aggregrator and splog sites that go round swiping full feeds to make their own sites without giving credit to the people who have spent hours writing this stuff, this site aims to take these guys on and show how it should be done whilst respecting peoples posts that are there property! Getting interest already !

One we bought this weekend as Britney Spears will be buzzing in the UK in June is BritneySpearsPage a not for profit fan site currently one page only, very BETA and needs clearance probably from the lady herself before it goes fully live as it contains her name, but one to watch none the less. Again only acquired days ago but already getting interest! Could be a flier or could be shut down in days due to a Britney thumbs down!

First of the four Grand slam titles and the recent Madrid final winner Russian player Dinara Safina currently ranked World no1 in Tennis circles ahead of names such as Serena Williams, looks to be on cracking form and looking every inch a world No1 performer. The French Open is underway, with the initial rounds taking place. Photo below of Dinara on a practice session on 22 May at Roland Garros in Paris before the event proper.

Her recent first round match was against Anne Keothavong of the UK, (pictured below)currently our best offering and ranked World No48. Dinara Safina proved her world ranking and class which some have doubted, with a 6-0, 6-0 straight sets win, a total victory if ever there was, not even allowing Anne Keothavong to taste a one point victory. The total crushing of Keothavong on centre court took a mere 61 minutes.

All eyes are on Dinara, her Madrid win was on a clay court and The French Open is more of the same and will suit her style of play. It’s a grand slam title and one that is coveted and highly respected and one that Dinara is eager to win. A win here would increase further her World No1 lead and respect within tennis circles quashing any remaining doubters,  and place her very nicely into a good seeding for the Grand Slam that is Wimbledon, on its way very soon!

The Cannes Film Festival which was held from the 13th to the 24th May has wrapped up and there was a selection of pretty good films this year with a couple we would rate as incredibly good and ones to keep an eye on, Precious with Mariah Carey stuck in our mind as Oscar Award Winning stuff!. A lighter festival than usual with a few highlights a reflection of the tight money times that affect even the film industry. The grand  finale of this film festival is the Palm D’Or Award which is held on the last day of the event,  with the  award going to the best film in the festival.

Charlotte Gainsbourg won the Best Actress Award see details above and the Michael Heneke black and white drama “The White Ribbon” won the best film award.

Inglourious Bastards which stars Brad Pitt and premiered with Angelina Jolie in attendance (see post) was directed by Quentin Tarantino received mainly negative reviews although we rated as 3 and half stars++++ but this was trailer based, and Quentin Tarantino did not attend the Palm D’Or Award event ceremony.

Mixed reviews were also received for the last film starring Heath Ledger “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” although it looks a certainty that this will reach some form of cult status in future years.
