Important announcement regarding the RSS Feed at FJ Girls and also the RSS Feeds on our other sites.
This site has been live about a year and half and in all that time we have had what is called Full RSS Feed, featuring all the photos, full article and all links which was designed for visitors and regulars to this site and primarily to be used in full format in a feed reader or used on a personal blog non commercial advert free blog.
With the recent trend in new sites called Splogs, Feed Aggregation sites and Scraper Style Blogs that go round ripping other quality sites Full RSS Feeds and then displaying them on their own site with links stripped and no credit to the source site, in effect claimimg it as their own, we have had to take some corrective action to stop this dead in its tracks.
A lot of time is spent researching, hand picking photos, listening to videos, reviewing performances and writing these articles. Other bigger name celebrity sites actually go out and take the pictures, do the interviews and attend the events which is even more work. Its a 24/7 job you have to live and breathe this celebrity stuff to do it even just reasonably well. This Full RSS feed nicking to create a new website with the content is a fairly new trend and its pixxing us of here big time, along with other quality sites, the internet is all about sharing, but when you share you give credit to the original source with link back, ignore that rule at your peril.
The FJ Girls and all of our other sites will be changing over to Partial Feed, featuring Text Only with about 50 words, text only, no photos or videos with a click on link takes you to the main article on the website where you will see the main article with gorgeous photos and stunning hand picked vids.
It just something that had to be done, this site is getting noticed in a big way now and its slowly becoming what they call an “authority” site in the female celebrity arena, part of the metamorphosis this site will be going through in the coming months, its called commercialisation and its unavoidable. This is not going to go down well with FJ Girls RSS Feed users but just involves one more click to get to the article, 10 if you like all the articles in a 10 post feed, we may now change to a 20 post feed as a result .
We don’t mind sites showing headlines even with partial text on their site but when they click the article they come back to the original source, thats how it is supposed to work. This RSS partial feed move could have a very adverse affect on this site, but this webmaster is not “slogging 24/7″ for want of a better word to line other webmasters pockets, while they do literally nothing and feels strongly enough to take this action regardless, and sod the consequences!
We get a lot of emails from new and established sites asking if they can use our feed on their site and our answer to that one is below:

2. Use RSS Headlines and Partial Text with link back to our site…Fine
3. Use Full RSS Feed with photos and videos on site to create your own site. NO and full feed has now been disabled.
http://blog.fjgirls.com/feed is the first site to go over to partial feed. The feedburner version of the RSS will also from today be partial feed. The Twitter feed will also be affected. Fox Hollywood is more of the same, the other FJ Girls network sites will be following as well.
It’s all about permission. we own these articles, just ask if you want to use the material, but don’t just swipe the feed, stick it on a website, plaster with adverts and sit there rubbing hands together thinking………that was easy……….its theft plain and simple”
There’s a couple of sites out there doing very well at the moment on our feed, we’ve been watching, we know who they are, they come up on our very detailed stats. They’ve been out there a month or so, we know the IP’s and if you’re reading this you’re being watched and this notice is coming up on your site. There may be more notices and more corrective action such as blocking particular IP’s (can be done) and adding anti copy to all our articles, (also can be done)! Reporting to Google DMCA the copyright people is the last resort but is something we will do if pushed to do so. Google eventually black lists these sites anyway, we’ve seen many over the past year or so, most reach Alexa Rank 1,000,000 then suddenly drop like a stone….why…..Google rumbled them!
We hope other celebrity website webmasters who run quality sites with original content read this article and are made aware of whats going on out there, as something can be done and we hope this has been of some help!
