Cate Blanchett the “Curious Case of Benjamin Button” star, hugely talented and an actress we tend to take very seriously and keep an eye on regardless of whether she is in the news or not.  Probably an actress that other actresses also keep an eye on, as her movements can affect their job prospects! She was at the Helpmann Awards on Monday 27th July Opera Theatre, Sydney Opera House in Bennelong Point, Sydney a theatrical awards event for oz based stars.

She’s not in the main  news focus  at present and a lot of digging around had to be done to get these news snippits, but she’s around none the less.  She’s currently involved in filming alongside Russell Crowe in Ridley Scott’s version of Robin Hood , in which she plays Maid Marian a role she took over from Sienna Miller. No on set footage as yet available.

She also has just got a new film role according to Variety that is directed by “Atonement” director Joe Wright, the film is entitled “Indian Summer” and is a film adaptation of the novel version where she is set to play Lady Edwina Mountbatten.

Filming of this new production will probably commence when the Robin Hood filming has been completed and not before.
