Amanda Seyfried famous for her role in the hit musical film “Mamma Mia” and also for starring alongside Lindsay Lohan in the film “Mean Girls”, is currently in the process of filming for her role in her latest offering called “Letters to Juliet” on location in Bryant Park, NYC.

The basic story is an American girl on vacation in Italy finds an unanswered “letter to Juliet” — one of thousands of missives left at the fictional lover’s Verona courtyard, which are typically answered by the “secretaries of Juliet” — and she goes on a quest to find the lovers referenced in the letter. Rihanna who has got to be one of the most mysterious female celebrities, was spotted in Beverly Hills with what looks to be her publicist who had her birthday bash the other week (see previous post). They were spotted on Tuesday 18th August heading into a medical building and the paps questioned her about Chris Brown and as can be imagined the answer was nothing or a blank. Why she was at the medical building was also a mystery but she looked very well , wearing her huge Pink  Louis Vuitton  celeby shades. Photo below taken weeks ago in New York!

Rumours are also flying around from respected sources including “The Times” that Rihanna is to appear live on the UK X Factor which is in it’s sixth series and starts broadcasting on UK TV on ITV1 on 22 August 7pm. Which show she will be on if at all  is not yet known, again typical Rihanna mystery scenario!

Other top name stars set to appear,  some rumoured and some confirmed include Robbie Williams (confirmed), Madonna (rumoured) and Whitney Houston (rumoured). The Whitney Houston appearance carries some cred as she is releasing her new single very soon as part of her comeback and this show appearance would make very serious marketing sense indeed and would cause some competitor problems who are also releasing a new single around the same time, MC are the initials that spring to mind!

Britney Spears for president in a bikini….now there’s a thought? Britney Spears was on the Letterman Show giving her views on the “Top Ten Ways The World Would Be Different if Britney Spears Were President”. The bikini does kind of distract from what she is actually saying, and the wriggling around and fluttering eyelashes don’t really help either,  but this is compulsory viewing for Britney fans just in case she does get elected as the President of The United States. Inglourious Basterds will be released on the US on Friday according to Letterman and has already premiered and who better to interview than Diane Kruger who has the lead female role in this film that was directed by Quentin Tarantino and also stars Brad Pitt.

Diane Kruger is a German Actress and her role in this film is a very popular German actress in Nazi Germany and she becomes a spy for the Allies. This film has a complicated plot but condensing it down into something basically understandable, it revolves around two groups who are plotting to kill Hitler and who never meet throughout the whole film.

The Director Tarantino has stated that although this is a World War II film, it is in fact made in a spaghetti western style just to complicate things even further and there are sub plots and clever layering within the film, a Tarantino trait and this film is being billed as a compulsory second viewing film just to figure out what is actually going on!

Diane Kruger has featured in films such as Troy, Wicker Park, National Treasure, and Joyeux Noël.

The “My One And Only” New York Premiere  was held last night August 18 at the Paris Theatre in New York. This film is a comedy and Renee Zellweger heads the cast on  on a story fleetingly based on George Hamilton’s early life on the road with his mother and brother. Renee Zellweger plays the glamorous Anne Deveraux  who embarks on a drive from city to city, looking for a wealthy man to fund a new life for her, and her sons.

Paris Hilton was spotted on Wednesday afternoon August 19th leaving the Grill On The Alley and was greeted by a pretty large number of paps. Alexandra Burke who was the winner of the 2008 X Factor is pictured below, she is currently in LA, she’s doing fine and she heralds the start of the 2009 X Factor. The date when it all starts is this weekend!

This really is a UK thing, although does garner interest from around the globe but nowhere near as much as in its home broadcast nation. This thing is massive!

This show is  a bit different from the last one. Judging panel remains the same with Louis Walsh, Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and of course Cheryl Cole who look to have settled their differences. Changes include a live audience of thousands to give the show even more buzz and atmosphere and keep the judges on their toes and give them even more pressure.

The acts are different with giant chickens, reindeer, chicken hats, flat cap wearing older stars we think after the SuBo success, twins, girls with blue hair, the list goes on. Talent is still a requirement before anything else but this show is a bit more unconventional than the previous offering.

No indication of which stars will be appearing on the show to perform, this sort of information is normally released days before the broadcast as it is 100% live.

X Factor is now in its sixth series and will be airing in the UK on 25 Aug 09 on ITV1 at 7pm. We will be looking to have detailed coverage of this on the UK Blog which we are looking to get moving  at a much faster pace in the Autumn once the Summer Holidays Doldrums have passed. Current headlines out there at present are of the “who cares” category which we do not waste our time with here on this site.
