A headline that may put you off going alone out in the wilder outdoor places although it has been stressed in all the media this really is a major exception, and not the rule, with these animals, Even as wild as they are, but coyotes do seem to be hitting the headlines a lot lately with dog attacks becoming common but this is a worrying rare occurence!
Taylor Mitchell a talented folk singer and rising music star went hiking out alone in a Canadian national park and was attacked by a pair of coyote’s and died as a result.
Her horrific screams were heard by other hikers who raised the alarm and called for the police. When the police arrived the coyotes were still attacking Taylor. One coyote was shot by the police but it was only wounded and it slipped away back into the park with its partner.
Taylor was already in a critical condition when she was airlifted from Canada’s Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia to hospital.
She died on Wednesday just hours after the attack after losing a considerable amount of blood from the multiple wounds. She was only 19………….. A terrible and sad loss!
