Dame Elizabeth Taylor who was made a dame by the Queen in 2000 has released a statement on Twitter to her fans that she is to go into hospital for heart surgery.

She said on her Twitter page about the procedure that the hospital will be:

“repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better”.

She also added:

“Any prayers you happen to have lying around I would dearly appreciate,” she added.

“I’ll let you know when it’s all over. Love you, Elizabeth.”

The famous actress who was married to the also famous Richard Burton and starred in a host of films including Cleopatra has suffered a few health problems in recent years and many photos show her wheel chair bound.

Elizabeth Taylor won Oscars for her famour roles in the now classic  films “Butterfield 8″ and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf”
