Something that caught our eye today in the papers and something we saw the day before on her official site on our travels, but it looks like Britney Spears or at least her media army is striking back via her official site with a Top 75 BS List of stories that have cropped up throughout 2009 on various websites including some surprisingly high brow papers that are they claim “ridiculous stories”. Here’s an excerpt from the BritneySpears.com official website below (cont)

(cont) “There were more then 13,000 stories written about Britney in 2009. We ranked the ones we believe were the most ridiculous. Either because they were factually inaccurate, because they reported the patently absurd, or because we believe they are simply offensive to the sensibilities.”

There’s some obvious names on this list that we don’t need to mention and one fan site in particular which the media have reported which the Britney empire are not too keen on…………….the good news is WE ARE NOT LISTED one of the advantages of being a relatively small site!

Got to admit though “cards on table” we did add in one of our articles say that for her UK tour she had a dance pole installed in her hotel room so she could practice her routines not as a headline but as part of an article….apparently BS which came in at No55 via a London paper, but not outside the realms of impossibility thats why we went with the story. You can’t get it right all the time.

This could be the way forward for a lot of celebs who now have websites, they may be using these as a basis for the real news “from the horses mouth” which will cause a few problems for celeb goss style sites in the future we think damaging credibility……motto always check your sources….then check again!

On the subject of Britney Spears there may be some Britney developments on this site and off in early 2010 which we are keeping under out hat but will be working on after the festive period………amongst other things. Watch for further news!

Vogue.com know a thing about style and they have just produced results for the top 20 most stylish female celebrities and there are some shocks, some certainties that should be there are some that we have a few question marks over but in general we think most people will agree with this list. All ages and all walks of celebrity life feature.

Brit Girl Alexa Chung the 26 year old tops the chart who is a TV presenter currently stateside with her It’s On With Alexa Chung show and second place features Audrey Tautou who played Coco Chanel in the film Coco before Chanel. Sarah Jessica Parker came in third mainly for her outfits whilst she was filmig Sex and the City 2 in New York. Both first Ladies feature including Michelle Obama (US) and Carla Bruni Sarkozy (France).

Kate Moss is the shock headline though who heads her own fashion line at Top Shop she has gone plummeting down from the top to a very poor No10. Victoria Beckham doesn’t even appear in the list and Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue both make it into the top 5. Lady GaGa makes it into the Top 20 just outside the Top 10!

Britanny Murphy’s untimely death has rocked the celebrity world, not only is the cause of death a major concern but also her age at a mere 32 where she still had so much of her life in front of her.

The stars have come out in force on this one and have shown their respects with many making statements via social networking sites such as the 140 character limit Twitter or longer ones  via the media.

Alicia Silverstone who starred alongside Britanny Murphy in the film “Clueless” had this to say “”I’m so saddened to hear this news. I loved working with Brittany. She was so talented, so warm and so sweet,” she added “I always felt connected to her as we shared a very special experience in our lives together. I feel love in my heart for her-and hope she is at peace.”

Donald Faison another Clueless co star had this to say “”Brittany was one of the sweetest people you will ever meet,” he said in a statement. “She had the voice of an angel and a genuine heart of gold. I’m very happy to have known and worked with such a special person. My heart goes out to all of her loved ones.”

Taylor Swift is lined up to perform at the Grammy Awards which is taking place next month according to the Recording Academy who are involved with such things and she is also nominated for 8 awards. Not to be outdone, Beyonce will also be performing and she is up for 10 nominations for awards and other stars set to perform include Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum and Maxwell it was announced on Tuesday.

Hats off to Rihanna for authenticity no fake snow for her when she’s recording a TV show and no fake wind either! She braved the cold and snow in New York to do a live taping for the Carlson Daly’s New Years Eve special the other day in a white fur coat. Photos below of Rihanna loving every minute of the show taping. Why have we included this photo?  Because FJ had to walk  or shall we say skate 7 miles home last night due to no buses, trains or even taxis due to the freak snow blizzard in London last night, and taxis and cars weren’t making much progress either. Got home 1am. Seeing Rihanna out there in the freezing snow just makes last night that bit more bearable!!
