Apparently she will be reworking this single to make it as a purely solo version as its proving very popular. The original is a collaboration with non other than Jay Z. The reason she stated was “The music is really strong, and the drums are really aggressive, but my voice is vulnerable and delicate,” she said.

We have a strong feeling that reworking which she is calling “Empire State of Mind II” may have aired live on Saturday Night Live stateside this weekend gone which featured in our Alicia SNL double billiing postand this version we have to say we prefer to the original Jay Z collab version.

This new version will be released as a single on February 22nd which coincides nicely with the start of her tour.
