Emma Watson is full of surprises, and the latest one is the Harry Potter star was the highest paid actress last year according to Vanity Fair Magazine beating off the Hollywood heavyweights such as Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker. What makes this more incredible is she is also the youngest on the list of Top 40 earners.

This top 40 Hollywood list only takes into account earnings from film and related appearances but Emma Watson earnings could be millions higher as she is currently the face of the very lucrative Burberry advertising contract which is not taken into account when the final earnings list is compiled. Emma is currently studying at University. She was ranked at number 14 overall in the total list and No1 in the Female Stars list. Watson’s 2009 earnings are recorded at $30 million (£19 million) . She was beaten though by Daniel Radcliffe her Harry Potter film co star who outdid her in the overall list to make it to number six, with an estimated $41 million (£26 million).
The top 5 positions were all taken by directors with Micheal Bay, the director of the latest Transformers film, Revenge of the Fallen,named the highest paid star in Hollywood, pulling in an estimated $125 million (£79 million) last year.
