An up and coming independent film director and a first for this site is Kate Madison. She’s hitting the papers and You Tube big time with her pretty much DIY non Hollywood style remake of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. This has been a monster hit on You Tube and has clocked up half a million viewers in rapid time according to The Sun.

It’s impressed us so much here we just had to get this on FJ Girls pronto.

The director is Kate Madison (opposite) who you probably may have never heard of who is also an actress from Cambridge in the UK. She has spent 6 years of her life creating this in effect Lord of the Rings 4 as the Hollywood versions run out at 3 as they are based on the 3 Tolkien Books of the same name. Kate has spent her life savings of £25,000 to create and finish this project and the film is called “Born of Hope”

She’s part of a new breed of directors making their mark with low budget film productions. Kate’s film was shot in Suffolk, England with a budget of £25K, the Hollywood versions were shot in New Zealand with a more Hollywood style budget of £190Million about 760 times more. Obviously the special effects will be lacking with this sort of budget but from what we’ve seen they’ve created a lot of film for relatively little money.
