Christina Aguilera’s new single “Not Myself Tonight” is currently getting air play and a sampler has been out for a couple of weeks now. A closer look to see what is going on!

As people are well aware Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears go back a long way, they’ve always competed with each other and are always watching each others single and album releases very closely whether they are in or out of the music scene.
Which brings us nicely onto Christina Aguilera’s forthcoming new album called “BIONIC” out everywhere June 8th. Now isn’t this an incredibly similar time to when Britney Spears is due to release her new album offering. Coincidence or something more? We think it’s in the “something more” camp. Christina has been in the headlines recently with some Lady GaGa comparisons. Appearances aside, (photo above who’s copying who here) and focusing on the vocals at this end there is no comparison with Christina having a broader range to the more restricted but more powerful Lady GaGa!
This looks set to be yet another comeback but as Christina is painfully aware, there is a Britney Camp and there is a Christina Aguilera camp and there is no middle meeting ground and no switching from one to othe other. Also to add to the complications there is now a Lady GaGa camp. We are in the Britney Spears camp and Britney’s star is shining ever brighter at present, but Christina Aguilera has talent aplenty but there is a shadow over her at present and it’s Britney and she is all too aware of it!
“Not Myself Tonight” her new number looks to be an improvement on her last offering that again was timed just in time for the Britney bounce back from hell a couple of years ago and we thought that number was a complete and utter disaster. This song looks to be a better slicker production, more edgy and in the Christina style she is renowned for but with a more up to date twist. Vocally she’s there although this is a studio recording, decent lyrics all in all….. not bad although not our thing here. Rating 3 stars+++
Chrisitna has had a baby, that’s something she had to do, but the music bug has returned, it will be interesting if she reclaims her former glory amidst the increasingly competitive female music artists out there at present?
