Cate Blanchett is Female Celebrity of the month for May 2010 at FJ Girls although at present there is no fjgirls.com website front page on which to put her. Why Cate Blanchett? Personally have a lot of respect for the actress, she has talent in abundance which not only permeates it’s way into the Hollywood scene but also onto the theatre boards as well and she runs her own theatre company in Oz….hats off to her for that!

She’s won an Oscar for her role in “The Aviator” starring alongside names such as Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Beckinsale. In fact working along side the leading names in the film industry in either director or actor/actress form seems to be her forte with Brad Pitt in her most recent film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and with the soon to be released on May 12th in the UK of the Ridley Scott Directed “Robin  Hood” alongside Russell Crowe

We could go on  but we think you get the picture. On a more personal note, have seen Cate on set whilst filming in London three blocks from where I was living at the time in the Hampstead area of North London, think the year was 2006 in financially better times!. 

It was the shoot for “Notes of a Scandal” where she starred alongside Judi Dench, it was drizzling, she was on one of those old style bicycles with a wicker basket on the front had a big overcoat and a woolly hat on and was spot lit with set lighting and surrounded by film crew. Just managed to catch her eye not once but twice, probably out of curiosity wondering “who is that tall dark and handsome chap talking to the director?”,  as being of the bold type I got chatting to the director of the production to find out what was going down. This is in the days before fjgirls.com was even thought of ,maybe that was the spark. A day that will never be forgotten!

With Robin Hood out on 12th May and Cate’s Birthday on 14th May, there’s a couple of headlines in the making before we have even started. Who was the competition she beat off? There wasn’t any apart from Megan Fox (above) but she is a strong candidate for next month!

On the subject of the fjgirls.com website, we have a hosting shortlist of a handful of companies so hopefully fjgirls.com will be live mid next week as some of these choices don’t set up servers on the weekend and it took a day last time to transfer all the fjgirls.com files over.  In the meantime we are looking to transfer the last few weeks news items over here some time this weekend as it’s a bank holiday weekend………..something to get stuck into!
