Alex Curren the wife of Steven Gerrard the England Captain is reported to be on standby along with other wives and girlfriends of the England Squad for England’s final group match with Slovenia on Wednesday at 3pm at the 2010 World Cup. This is after the abysmal performance of England on Friday playing against Algeria where we drew 0-0 and the game was so grim the England fans made it clear they were not happy and can you blame them and Wayne Rooney responded in Predictable fashion. The rest as they say is history. It’s not all roses in the other top teams either with Spain beaten by Switzerland, Italy drew with New Zealand, North Korea scored a last minute goal against Brazil and France…………….well their problems are in a different league with the team going into meltdown! So we are not alone and as the Sun put it “We could still win this crazy World Cup?????????”

With the manager Fabio Capello and his motto being zero distractions and the monk mentality throughout the tournament including no wives and girlfriends it may just be dawning on the squad and the manager as well that this policy could be proving the very thing that could be crucifying England’s chances of going through even the qualifiers which at the beginning of the event were looking a dead cert and now things are looking to be going distinctly pear shaped.
With England really looking to have to win against Slovenia to have a good chance of going through to the last 16, it looks like according to the Sun that the rules may be relaxed for this last match and wives and girlfriends are allowed to fly into the support their other halves. It’s a case of bringing in the girls as reinforcements. Could this be the spark that could make that vital difference and bring back the England football team that we know instead of the one we are seeing out their at present that really is lacking it’s mojo?
Wimbledon 2010 has just started today with the first rounds in the mens and womens events and Serena Williams the World No1 is up against Rossana De Los Rios on Court One at Twelve O’clock today. Other big names include on Court 2 , Kim Clijsters v Maria Elena Camerin of Italy, Francesca Schiavone the recent French Open winners plays Vera Dushevina of Russia. On Court 12 Justine Henin plays Anastasija Sevastova. Laura Robson the young British hopeful and Wimbledon Junior Champion now playing in the womens’ event where she faces the world No4 Jelena Jankovic on Centre Court today. The world stopping headline though despite the awards which is always the case at music award events was yet again Miley Cyrus and her choice of on stage numbers……it looks like she is going a bit GaGa. She has appeared recently amidst a big uproar in the media world on a certain celebrity gossip blogger site and the result was all fingers were pointing in the blogger’s direction ! NOW it has happened again but this time whilst performing live at the MuchMusic Awards in a lingerie style number (photo above) , not the best place for a wardrobe malfunction and now it seems all fingers are now pointing in her direction.

Eliza Doolittle the 22 year old fellow North Londoner has a new number out on Monday called “Pack Up”. Is it any good?
The Verdict: A fun and happy video for a fun and happy song, it’s different and we like. Onto the song and this lady can sing, soft and sweet with some very interesting high notes on her tweeting section. There’s some talent here, sh’es got the looks, she will not blow you back against the wall with her vocal power, but what she lacks in that department she makes up for in some serious girly notes. It’s a nice lazy summery number and nice songs that are technically competent get that very safe but very competent and respectable rating of 3 stars.
Chart success? Haven’t got a clue!
