Katie Price has got her new single out called “Free To Love Again”. It’s a club style number……sort of…….. and without any pomp and ceremony lets do the deed and put this through the dreaded critical butcher’s mincer!
The Verdict:
Where do you start. Lets start with the positive item…………. as in one, her clobber is all geared up to show off her vital assets and it does it very well, top marks for that although it’s got be said it’s not our scene or come to think of it a lot of peoples scene. Onto the negatives and there are many. This has got to be as far removed from live as you can get any further and she’ll be standing without a microphone and not even opening her mouth. Now we didn’t count how many times “free to love again” was said in this song. It’s got to be in the hundreds so much so you wonder what other lyrics there are left……..BUT there is no question of the songs title……………..there is that……………….it’s all good marketing stuff ………..if not too clever. We will not even mention the backing dancers, we won’t go there! All in all, poor musical backing like from a cheap karaoke machine, poor vocals, incredibly poor lyrics (as in there aren’t any) and verging on the mind numbingly boring, poor choreography, we could go on…….in short it’s a musical disaster. At best it’s down there with the supermarket and lift music. Rating 1 star!
To be fair to Katie though she did say she can’t sing and she’s not wrong in that department, and she is “having a go” but please you’ve had a go…………………no more music please, stick to your books, TV and perfume! Chart prediction………………a nerve shredding Number 1 cannot be ruled out.
Here’s some You Tube comments lifted off that endorse what has just been said here.
“I feel like i can relate Katie Price to the iPhone.
Made of plastic, Gets a bad reception..
And now includes the auto-tune feature.”
“Crap performer, crap song, and what the hell she wearing.”
“Omg she actually doesnt have a clue!!!!”
We think Katie may have been trying for something like this following number. Have a listen to an old Nineties number called “Dreamer” by Livin Joy that was heard whilst out shopping on the weekend. Pace, bite, lyrics, vocals, layered solid backing, thump, energy and floor shaking and filling credentials. Rating 3 and half stars and in a different league. Very apt title!
