Julia Roberts was at the premiere of “Eat Pray Love” which was held at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York last night. Seriously good actress this one, commands a lot of respect on this site, she’s up their with the Jolie’s and Blanchett’s,  an actress that is worth spending a bit of time on. If she has decided to lend her name to this film it just has to be at least half decent!

(Photo by Bryan Bedder/Getty Images) Still personally think “Erin Brokovich” way back in 2000 which she won an Oscar for was her best film basically where she plays a rebellious, feisty destitute single mother and the film is about human struggle and how there is always hope to pull through onto better things, a sort of American SlumDog Millionaire. The first couple of minutes of the film give you a shocking taster of the roller coast ride it is later on and how life can change in the blink of an eye for the better or for the worse!

Julia Roberts apparently has converted to Hinduism as a result of this film, so is “Eat Pray Love” another Erin Brokovich or something that pales in comparison?

Julia had this to say according to an interview with Reuters.

“I haven’t done a main part in a movie in a long time and I wondered if that kind of work load would still be interesting to me, and I was very happy at the end of this that I felt incredibly fulfilled as a creative person,”

The Plot:

After trying and failing to become pregnant, a woman realizes she is not getting what she wants out of life, and, after a  painful divorce, sets out on a journey across the world. Basically she goes soul searching to Italy, India and Bali and the film is about the adventures she encounters on the way.

The film is out on Friday 13th August, not the best release date if you are superstitious, it will be interesting to see how this does in box office terms and see what the critics make of this as this looks like something the critics may like. A deep meaning of life spiritual sort of film and one for the girls but one that the lads may also be prepared to be dragged along to as  “Sex and the City” it is not!
