Angelina Jolie was in London last night for the gala premiere of Salt which was held at the Empire Leicester Square.

UPI/Rune Hellestad Photo via Newscom As it was a gala the celeb guest list was surprisingly small for such a big name star as Jolie but the crowds turned out big time to see the Hollywood Queen at a public event on british turf…. a rare and  special moment. Other female stars that attended included Kerry Katona and X Factor winner and supreme warbler Leona Lewis also graced us with her presence.

Jolie wore an Amanda Wakeley sequined dress and Salvatore Ferragamo heels and denied the ever present rumours about her being billed to play Marilyn Monroe in a new film she said “i haven’t heard a thing about it”, is she covering up or telling the truth?

She was minus Brad Pitt at the event as he had other commitments.

REUTERS/Suzanne Plunkett The film has received mixed reviews from the film critics with some giving it top marks and others leaning more towards neutral but it’s still coming out as half decent and essential viewing for Jolie fans regardles as she rarely lets them down in the acting department. The film opens on Wednesday 18 August according to some sources  in the UK whilst Wikipedia quotes 20th August, and has already been released a month previously in the US.
