Here’s the guest list for this film premiere “The Last Exorcism”  it’s Charisma Carpenter and Greg Ellis……and that’s it. The film is directed by actor Eli Roth. Ordinarily we would give this a wide birth as if not many stars could be bothered to turn up…what does that say about the film. But keeping an open mind and watching the trailer this film and it’s premiere manages to get on this site. As you have probably guessed it’s something along the line of The Exorcist or Lost Souls which starred Winona Ryder. The film is out on 27th August.

The Plot:

The film is told from the perspective of a disillusioned evangelical minister, who after years of performing exorcisms decides to participate in a documentary chronicling his last exorcism while exposing the fraud of his ministry. After receiving a letter from a farmer asking for help in driving out the devil, he meets the farmer’s afflicted daughter. The tagline and premise of the movie is “If you believe in God, then you must believe in the Devil.” The film itself is presented as “found footage”.

Our Views:

Dont know what to make of this film. It’s a strange mix of definite TV movie or B Movie style supernatural horror but in places it does look very creepy indeed something like Blair Witch………….why…….because it looks so down to earth and ordinary and done in a believable documentary style…………..they are the scariest!

What Do The Critics Think!

Check out John Nolte at Big Hollywood. In depth review stating that this is an intelligently made film that wraps up by saying “Strap In Hold On Have Fun” My kinda film!

Box office success prediction for this film…………..haven’t got  clue we think it will probably do better on the DVD release than the actual film relase!
