Some big names were in the running for this months Female Celebrity of the Month for September 2010 but Nicole Snooki of Jersey Shore (front of photo below) won the day and claims the crown. We know what you’re thinking………..no it’s not a typo!

The girls from Jersey Shore , Nicole Snooki Polizzi, Deena Nicole Cortese, Sammi Sweetheart Giancola and Jenni JWoww Farley, run multiple errands after getting off of work from The Shore Store. First the ladies headed to JK Nails & Spa for manicures and pedicures. Snooki and Sammi then went to a gas station to get their SUV washed and to grab some drinks. Here’s some of those big names that Nicole Snooki has beaten off.

Maria Sharapova: Former world No1 Tennis Champion and possible US Open 2010 Winner?

Kim Klijsters: The Belgium Tennis comeback Queen who was last years US Open Winner and could possibly win again this year.

Lindsay Lohan: Recently out of prison ,the wires are currently buzzing with her in rehab mode, you know those big rollercoaster  headlines are just round the corner!

Lady GaGa: Multiple VMA Award nominated, recent Twitter No1 Top Girl, The Current Music IT Girl and more.

So why not one of these big names? Sharapova and Klijsters could pull off the US Open win but it’s not a cert and there’s just too many new stars emerging that did very well at Wimbledon and could cause problems for these big names at the US Open so we avoided. Lindsay Lohan has a huge number of posts already, if things do go down into predicted meltdown in the coming weeks she will be pretty prominent on this site regardless and we don’t need something like that on the front page of this site. The same goes for Lady GaGa who has a massive number of posts on this site and will be newsworthy come mid September with the VMA’s and will probably have more posts than Snooki whether she is Female Celebrity of the Month or not.

So why Nicole Snooki. What’s so special about her? She’s rapidly trending on the news wires the last couple of months, she’s the most prominent from the Jersey Shore Reality TV Show, she’s clogging up our photo feeds increasingly every day here more so than some big names currently in focus such as Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan and other big names. The Jersey Shore series 3 filming is currently in full swing at Seaside Heights in New Jersey and she’s becoming incredibly prominent in celebrity news circles.

Also to put things into persepctive we have no favourites here on this site and we don’t plug particular stars as we don’t get any  financial gain or otherwise out of it, we just go with the news, the hits and what people find interesting, basicaly the flow.

Nicole Snooki has only been around a couple of months, here’s a look at some stars with similar post levels, a snapshot taken at 31st August and most of these stars have been around considerably longer.

Moving onto Nicole Snooki and she is on 17 posts……repeat 17 posts!!! That gives you an idea of how much she is trending here. Add to that the first post for her was only on April 20th 2010 a mere 4 months ago and you now see what we are talking about here!

Numbers aside there’s just something about her that says what we are seeing here could be just the tip of the iceberg, further bigger developments could be down the line as just like fame things do tend to snowball and turn into an avalanche in the blink of an eye, just look at Kristen Stewart for proof of that!

Our only concern with Nicole is we’ve seen a lot of photos recently where she’s looking a bit “brassed off” maybe part of the show, the hard filming schedules, the incessant paparazzi or maybe all these things combined or maybe she’s just fed up with the fame thing or maybe it’s a temporary state of affairs?. She’s very much an unknown quantity at the moment but we feel she has sufficient fame mileage under her belt now that Jersey Shore is into Season 3 to claim the Female Celebrity of the Month spot……….no questions asked.

Love her or hate her or the show and  forgetting all that though, she’s a character, she’s down to earth, she’s not a waif,  and basically she’s a celebrity but also at the same time she’s one of us and that’s something I would like to have on the main page of my site. She’s definitely one to watch!
