Actress Sofia Vergara was at the Letterman Show last night as he was having a Columbian themed night and the incredibly drop dead attractive actress spilled the beans about the start of the second season of “Modern Family” the show in which she stars. We bet Letterman was quite excited about this interview………………..must have laughed himself to sleep the previous night……………..what a dream job he’s got!

The “Modern Family” half hour comedy show can justify it’s credentials not just by going into the second season obviously by viewer numbers but also this year it won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, as well as two other Emmy Awards. Awards or no awards, Sofia Vergara we think probably has the strong pulling power here! Interview with Letterman below to get an insight into this Columbian beauty.

What do the critics say about this show. It received a ‘critically acclaimed’ Metacritic score of 86 out of 100. Entertainment Weekly gave it an A-, calling it “immediately recognizable as the best new sitcom of the fall”. In Time’s review the show was named “the funniest new family comedy of the year” according to Wikipedia. Looks like a show to “avoid at your peril” for Sofia Vergara fans this show is a no brainer!

Letterman decided to have a Columbian themed night on his show with actress Sofia Vergara being put under the griller (see previous post) and also give the show a taste of another  successful Columbian export as in Shakira blasting us with her award winning vocals. Her new number being showcased is called “Loca” which is taken off her new album “Sale el Sol” which translated means “The Sun Comes Out”. Billed for a release on October 19th. Loca is the first single to come off this album. Check her live performance out below:

Paloma Faith, a colourful dresser and a character was spotted in Hoxton the uber trendy North London hangout after doing a DJ set walking around with something very strange looking on her head which according to the paps she said was “a wafer biscuit”…………..Right?

She is rumoured to fancy her chances as an X Factor Judge. We’ve had part time judges while Cheryl and Dannii were off including Katy Perry, Pixie Lott and Nicole Scherzinger why does Paloma Faith think she has what it takes more than these stunning warblers?

She had this to say recently:

“I’ve tweeted that I’d like to be a guest judge on The X Factor, which I don’t think is likely, but I just think it would be nice for them to have someone who’s got something interesting to say on there,” she said.

The 25-year-old previously penned on her Twitter page: “I want to guest judge The X Factor!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeease Mr Cowell please!”

“Something interesting to say” eh? Sounds like a bit of a pop at the existing judges on the panel. Paloma Faith on X Factor……….now that could be interesting! The mystery with us here with Paloma Faith is why is it every time we see her even if it’s on the Red Carpet she seems to be carrying luggage or is surrounded by luggage. WHY?

Blake Lively was spotted on set filming for the latest scenes of Gossip Girl outside Columbia University in New York, and we have a couple of solo shots and a ‘in between shoots’ moment shot with her beau Penn Badgely. We have to say it’s quite handy if you happen to be Blake Lively and you fancy a bit of of lip locking session and you are on set and your love interest just happens to be on set with you………………….very handy indeed!

According to the critics The Town which stars Blake Lively and Ben Affleck is getting the serious thumbs up pretty much across the board with Lively putting in a blazing performance.

Metro Film Reviews said:

“The Town is a highly accomplished Heist which offers good adult drama with romantic soul”.

There is a sex scene in this film but Blake Lively had this to say according to AP:

“It’s awkward, it’s unromantic and it’s also very tragic in a lot of ways because these are two people that hate each other and they’re stuck in this rut”.

Kim Kardashian! She’s currently on a tour of Europe, she has her mum Kris Jenner in tow and she decided to make her presence known in Germany and christen the Oktoberfest. Now she could have turned up in casual gear but NO she decided to go the full monty and get one of those traditional dresses made up and did the pig tail thing……….the works!

She tweeted: “Off to Oktoberfest in my new drindle! (sic)”

A dirndl is a type of traditional dress worn in Germany. Now the Oktoberfest needs no introduction basically it runs from now until the first weekend of October and is the worlds largest fair that gets six million visitors, but the real deal is this is a very big celebration of “BEER” and is quite a good place to get “PLASTERED”. Oktoberfest runs from late September until the first weekend in October  Are they there for the fair or for the beer? We think KK and KJ rock this look regardless. More photos below:

Gemma Arterton thought it might be good idea to attend the opening of “The Shoe Galleries” in a store called Selfridges in London’s Oxford Street, that sounds fun she probably thought, I think I’ll strut my stuff there and give this place some cred! What she didn’t realise is she would be eclipsed by  an oversize shoe taller than herself.

So what was all this in aid of? This was the opening of the Selfridges Shoe Gallery the largest shoe department in the world. It’s on the second floor of Selfridge’s and the “Gallery” will boast nearly 5,000 different styles across 35,000 sq ft of space, with 100,000 pairs available at any one time.

To put it mildly it’s a fashionistas dream, what it will be like in the sales doesn’t bear thinking about! That’s all well and good but what are the designers names on site? Major luxury brands such as Jimmy Choo, Prada, Christian Louboutin, Gucci and Dior have created their own lavishly decorated “apartments” to display their shoes. Apparently the “Shoe Galleries” is bigger in  size than the Tate Modern Turbine Hall. It’s a temple for the worship of fashion…………………………you know what you have to do……..it’s late night shopping on Thursday………..still here?

“You Again” premiered last night in LA and this film has a big name cast including Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, Odette Yustman, James Wolk, Betty White and Kristin Chenoweth. The film is directed by Andy Flickman and comes out on September 24th. According to IMDB the plot goes something like this. When a young woman realizes her brother is about to marry the girl who bullied her in high school, she sets out to expose the fiancée’s true colors. It’s a comedy with romantic undertones which you’ve guessed it………. makes it a ROM COM!
