Sundance Film Festival Celebrity Spotting 25 Jan

The first film festival of the season called Sundance is currently running at full steam up at Park City in Utah and it’s about as far removed as you can get from Hollywood.

Not much in the way of beaches, no red carpets and no sunset Boulevard and judging by the weather yesterday no sun either. The weather was predictably snow on 25 Jan, the Hollywood crowd were there and of course so were the photogs.

A stack of predominantly male stars spotted at Sundance battling the elements below with Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher and Kate Bosworth heading the line up!

The Mila Kunis Oscar snub. Darren Aronofsky speaks out!

Whilst Natalie Portman is hogging the limelight, news wires and the major award ceremony gong wins,  Mila Kunis who also starred in the award winning film that is “Black Swan” by Darren Aronofsky who was nominated at other award events for her role in the film has been snubbed by The Academy Awards which has caused a bit of an outrage on the news wires but then again there is no surprises there!

The Oscars is renowned for this sort of thing and although Natalie Portman has been nominated for an award and has consistently been mopping up awards the last month or so,  it is by no means  guaranteed she will win an Oscar, she could get the fatal snub as well. Keira Knightley and her famous snub a couple of years ago is proof of that fact. The film she starred in won gongs galore but her nomination for her role in that film was definitely given the cold shoulder.

Lady GaGa not to be outdone by the massive media music machine that is Britney Spears is setting the news wires on fire with her latest album she’s been working on called  “Born This Way”  and he first single that will debut from the upcoming album next month. Born This Way is scheduled for a May 23 release. The title track, meanwhile, will be released as a single on February 13. Gaga finished up the video for the song this week.

Lady GaGa took to her official Twitter account to write an update, and said to her fans:

“Ok. Firstly, yes I love Nutella (with Banana+Wonderbread) who doesn’t? Secondly, I can’t believe Edge of Glory was trending, sneakymonsters! Thirdly, I need a beer with my name on it cause the last 72hrs gave me a creative hangover.”

Cheryl Cole is starting 2011 with a bang and she seems to be in a “one door closing as another door opens” sort of scenario which would equate to major life changes in her life as a result of her landing the judges role for the US X Factor. After watching this star recently it would be safe to say that Cheryl’s waters run deep and the following headlines seem to endorse that fact.

With her move to the US now underway and her involvement with Derek Hough now confirmed who will also be over in the states with her there is still the unfinished business of a certain footballer called Ashley Cole to attend too, a door in her life that we think needs to be closed! A recent headline from a gossip mag called Now states that Cheryl met up with Ashley for a secret farewell meal a story we have run with as we think it has some sort of credibility, fits in line with the current game plan and the Cheryl Cole psyche.

The 2011 Academy Award nominations were released this morning US time for the major event that awards films directors and actors for their past performances. The event takes place on Sunday, February 27. It’s the same line up as in previous award ceremonies The Social Network, Black Swan, The fighter, Darren Aronofsky, The Kings Speech, Colin Firth and Natalie Portman all in the running for the film industries finest accolade.

The Kings Speech by all accounts has broken a nomination record getting into double figures that’s more than Slumdog Millionaire!

Kim Kardashian and her family know no bounds when it comes to promotion, it’s what socialites do and the latest news is Kim Kardashian has become the new face of Midori a melon flavored green looking melon liqueur. Personally have tried this stuff and it’s very tasty indeed just like Kim Kardashian. Kim has agreed that she will appear in advertising for the drink and will be making personal appearances to promote it.  That’s very nice of her but we are sure the financial benefits not to mention the media exposure also come in handy? This new announcement comes on the heels of the debut of her newest show called “Kourtney and Kim Take New York”. It is the most recent spin off of the hit show “Keeping up with the Kardashians”. The new show debuted a day or so ago  and brought in 2.9 million viewers.
