Although Lady Gaga predictably dominated the Grammy awards last night, other big name stars were there. Videos are just starting to come through from various sources covering the red carpet arrivals at the 53rd Grammy awards. Miley Cyrus is hitting the headlines in a big way as it looks like she has landed a presenting role on the hugely popular Prime time  stateside Saturday night program called Saturday Night Live according to People.com The program is known in the states as SNL. She looks to be presenting on the show  on March 5th. Massive news for this young star, we think she’ll do a good job. Full Story

A double billing for Lady Gaga with her arrival at the 53rd Grammy awards held in LA last night totally confusing commentators at the event calling the large egg a “shell like structure” with comments such as “we are not sure it’s Lady Gaga but then again it could only be Lady GaGa” being the general vibe. It was like a funeral procession but this was a for a birth of something pretty big. Confused. Grab the vid below.

There were  no award domination’s last night at the Grammy Awards with an even spread across the board.

Lady Antebellum looked to have done the best on the awards front and won the “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year” gongs at last nights 53rd Grammy Awards held  at the Staples Center in Los Angeles  along with Lady Gaga.

From the more formal surroundings of the BAFTAs at The  Royal Opera House in London and onto The Grammy Music Awards held in LA on the same night,  which is a completely different animal indeed. Lady Gaga seemed to be completely dominating the proceedings at this event as usual not really seeming to have much interest in the fact she is up for 6 Grammy gongs but was more interested in how she is seen to turn up at the event. she turned up in an EGG!. Something possibly to do with the new single and album of the same name called “Born This Way”……………we thinks. It’s all creative stuff!

a partial listing of names in attendance for this ceremony (there will be more as this thing is huge)  included Mike the Situation and Nicole Snooki Polizzii of Jersey Shore, Kelly Osbourne aka Kelly O, a heavily pregnant Selma Blair and tinkler of the ivories Barry Manilow amongst others.

Colin Firth wins Best Actor Award at the 2011 BAFTAs

The 2011 BAFTAS were held in London at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and you could say it was a full house packed from wall to wall with celebrities all under the same roof. The Kings Speech dominated the night and won The Best film award and Colin Firth grabs the headline for the coveted Best Actor Award something that he had to win at this event and Helena Bonham Carter won a well deserved Best Supporting Actress gong from the same film.

Inception picked up quite a few technical gongs and The Social Network also was in the running picking up a good collection of awards including the highly sought after director Award. Natalie Portman won the best actress Award for her role in black Swan  but was unable to attend due to being heavily pregnant and the flying thing and other commitments., again another award that had to be hers no question. The award was collected by the Director of Black Swan, Darren Aronofsky.
