Keri Hilson Feat. Chris Brown – One Night Stand Official Video and Verdict!

Keri Hilson has a new number out which feats Chris Brown which coincides very nicely with his new album release with predicted No1 hits coming off this. This new Hilson tune is called “One Night Stand” . Lets take a closer look?

The Video.
Slightly old school gloomy moody number with sexy undertones with Chris Brown sporting his platinum blonde crop,, fits the song title a treat, it’s OK and does the job!

The Song
Worrying intro (intentional) that had us muttering “What The…..” checking that maybe there was something wrong with the vid but once the song kicks off proper we are into a slow thumping number that pushes all the right buttons if this is your thing. Vocals, technicals and lyrics are all coming out as average though but that base line is certainly addictive and will get those bass bins pumping in your Bentley convertible with personalised number plate no problem whilst driving down the Kings Road in Chelsea or Sunset Boulevard in LA?

The Verdict
Rating:  3 stars ++ with the pluses for the punchy base line!

Chart Prediction. The names are here, Chris Brown should be rocking news wise in the coming weeks, could go No1 or just top Twenty. It’s anybodies guess!

Elizabeth Taylor dies age 79!

Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra

Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra

Elizabeth Taylor official title Dame Elizabeth Taylor has passed away aged 79. A big loss to Hollywood this massive name actress was the Queen of Hollywood at the height of her career. Her final years were spent wheelchair bound but this actress and her works like Monroe will be remembered for many decades to come!

Photo above is of Elizabeth Taylor in her role as Cleopatra Queen of Egypt in the film of the same name and we think this is how she would like to be remembered. A very fitting role as just like Jolie is now, Elizabeth Taylor was very much the Queen of Hollywood at the pinnacle of her career but only bigger, much bigger than Jolie!.

The film Cleopatra strangely enough was a monumental flop in the box office but even with that it can’t be denied this is one of her most famous roles and one which very few actresses of her time could have pulled off. She won 2 Academy awards throughout her career the most famous being Butterfield 8 and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf where in both instances she won the best actress award. To put things in perspective that put her in the same league as film legends such as Bette Davies, Vivien Leigh and Ingrid Bergman all names associated in what was billed then as the “Hollywood Golden Age”, a time when big name stars were in abundance.

Her film career  spans films made in black and white from the early 1940′s in the war years  through to the early days of colour and the 1960′s. she then went on to do many TV movies and series right up to the early 2000′s when health problems started to affect her. During her life, she starred in nearly 60 movies and was widely considered one of the world’s best actresses. The American Film Institute named Taylor seventh on its Female Legends list.

She lived a full life or you could put it  another way she lived life to the full including 8 marriages and a similar number of near death experiences. Of her 8 marriages Richard Burton was the longest who she divorced then remarried again only to divorce again. In there time these two were like royalty inside and outside of Hollywood. She is renowned for liking a drink or two and also counted the late Michael Jackson as one of her many friends!

In her closing years she suffered various heart problems diagnosed as “congestive heart failure” which eventually resulted in her death today 23 March 2011 in the early hours of the morning. She was at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles at the time of her death, surrounded by her children. She had been hospitalized for over a month before she died.

This is a very sad day indeed!
