Naomi Watts and the "Paul" Premiere. LA!

Naomi Watts in Black and White

Naomi Watts in Black and White

Personally whenever I think of Naomi Watts, the film “The Ring” an American remake on a Japanese original always springs to mind a rather strange but very good horror thriller about some supernatural forces in a video that are unleashed once the video is played and viewed on screen guaranteeing some pretty bad luck for the viewer and resulting in death.Turn the clock forward a few years and  Naomi Watts was last night  at the Universal Pictures’ premiere of  ‘Paul’ which was held at Grauman’s Chinese Theater  in Hollywood, LA.

The film. is coming out as roughly 3 stars with the critics, so half decent.  She was there on the red carpet in what looks to be “sans make up” mode in stark contrast to the photo above, That takes some guts! this film stars and was written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and as you’ve guessed it’s a comedy come science fiction film featuring a beer swilling alien called Paul. Don’t even ask….. but there are some serious laughs here! Naomi proves she can do a vast array of  film genre’s which is always the hallmark of a good actress!

Some of the best celebrity spotting shots we think are the normal everyday photos where they are doing the exact same thing as we do such as Britney doing her Starbucks run or dashing into McDonalds, Lindsay Lohan popping into a Pound Store, Kim Kardashian on the beach, Courtney Love getting out of a New York Yellow Cab, Pink riding her bike with her husband, Lady Gaga buying fish and chips in Kings X in London, Jessica Alba putting money in a parking meter. Dig deep and all those shots from memory are somewhere on this site!. These sort of things most mere mortals do themselves and can afford as they are free or cheap, the only difference is there will not be an army of paparazzi following you in those situations.

Cue Vanessa Hudgens looking very much on the money, doing a pretty ordinary thing and that’s going to a Lakers game  between the Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Lakers with a friend who happens to be Emily Browning at Staples Center on March 14 in LA. Of course the photogs were there and recognised them straight away and Hudgens and Browning were also aware that the photogs had recognised them. Photos below:

The 2011 Olivier Awards were held last night in London last night at the Theatre Royal. Big event in the theatre awards calendar that rewards performances in theatre and is primarily focused on London Theatre,  so all the thespians were out for this one. Some names you expect to be there such as Anita Dobson, Angela Rippon and Patrick Stewart along with names such as Gary Lineker more famous for his sports interviews and commentary.

Danielle Lineker amidst much raising of  Thespian eyebrows grabs the headlines. She’s not a Thespian as far as we are aware, in fact she is a model, she didn’t even win an award or even get nominated but she certainly shone on the night in red carpet terms and that does it for us! Mr Lineker seems to have landed on his feet with this one. Maybe she likes Walkers Crisps?

Jessie J performs 'Mama Knows Best' and 'Price Tag' on SNL. Videos!

Jessie J Live on SNL 12 March 2011

Jessie J Live on SNL 12 March 2011

Not one but 2 live performances from Jessie J on the monster hit TV show that is Saturday Night Live (SNL). Not content with taking the UK by storm she had a double billing on SNL over in the states and performed her hit ‘Price Tag’ feat B.o.B and  ‘Mama Knows Best’  complete with stockings and suspenders. She made an impact visually, did she crack it vocally. We would say a resounding YES.

Live is a tough one, get it wrong and there is no rewind button to do a take 2 and there is no auto tune to save the day. Get it right and it beats anything that comes out of a recording studio with ease., Adele and her recent performance at the Brit Awards is a case in point. ‘Mama Knows Best’ we would say is a particularly tough one, you have got to be screaming from cold, no chance to warm up here, that’s hard………. the best out there at present would struggle with that………Winehouse would love to do that one……………right up her street!

Terry and this weeks films. The Good. The Average and The Grim!

This weeks film releases featuring the Good, The Average and The Grim with review summaries and trailers. Ratings are from Alex Zane and Grant Rollings of The Sun. This weeks films include Terry, Battle:LA, Hall Pass, The Company Men, Fair Game and The Resident. Stars include Sean Penn, Naomi Watts, Christopher Lee, Hilary Swank and Michelle Rodriguez amongst others. Not an outstanding week for films with just a few coming out as average, plenty below and just one above average that claims FILM OF THE WEEK.

Battle LA:  Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez star in this aliens taking over earth destroying all the major cities and the last one standing is LA. Terrible script and plot made up for with a barrage of never ending spectacular special effects of the earth being destroyed and this film carries a LOUD warning. Apparently leave your brain at the door of the cinema and buckle in for the ride and you will enjoy  Rating 3 stars.

Hall Pass:A teen movie starring men in their forties? Basically 2 husbands can’t stop eyeing up the ladies, the wives have had enough and sign them up for “Hall Pass” a week off from marriage to indulge their fantasies with the catchy they have to be faithfull to the death! Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis are the husbands and Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate play the wivers. Not terribly funny. Rating 2 stars.

Terry:  A low budget documentary including patchy sound and shaking handicam video footage does not sound like the recipe for a decent film but this mini movie about a wide boy and his escapades who is apparentl;y a fictional character but is worryingly real is coming out as a must see. Rating 4 stars FILM OF THE WEEK
