Tulisa and the latest X Factor UK Judge news. A closer look?
What a disaster this is. So with Cheryl Cole leaving the UK X Factor for the US Version only to be given the chop after a couple of weeks with the words “things don’t seem to be working out pet and adios” (see previous artcicle) being muttered in her ear we now have Cheryl Cole back in the UK with her tail between her legs and apparently not answering phone calls to return to the UK Version according to the gossip grape vine and lets face it can you blame her. My attitude would be X Factor…………..you can stick it and keep your money! By all accounts Cheryl has received quite a handsome leaving present in the form of a decent payout for her booting from the US version but that’s not the point is it……………it’s not about the money.
Looking at this from Fox’s the TV producers point of view if ratings slip dramatically then the axe wil come out sharpish and probably even quicker in the States and unfortunately Cheryl Cole was on the receiving end of that axe swing. Still think though they should have done a dry one and test with her to get a test audience reaction instead of just chucking her out there live on prime time and hope for the best. That’s not very professional is it?
The X Factor auditions for the UK version will be beginning this Wednesday and Thursday and apparently Simon Cowell the man himself is in the UK for obvious reasons and also for Britain’s Got Talent affectionately known on Twitter as BGT which is also underway. You could say he’s got his hands full and maybe juggling too many balls. He’s a businessman and a ruthless one at that and he comes across as a numbers man and the bigger numbers and the cash cow is the US X Factor, that’s his baby and that’s where his priorities lie. Names, personalities, peoples feelings and those sort of things don’t really come into it……it’s business. That’s just the way he is and the way you have to be in the media game!
So it looks like the judging panel for the UK version is in a pencilled in form and is Louis Walsh the existing judge and music mogul, Kelly Rowland of ex Destiny’s Child who has gone solo filling Dannii Minogue’s shoes, Gary Barlow of Take That attempting to fill Simon Cowell’s shoes and what would have been probably Cheryl Cole has now been recently announced as a strong possible and pencilled in Tulisa from N Dubz? She’s a looker for sure and no doubt can do the job but not the first logical choice out of stacks of Brit stars out there at present, but again it’s all about the money and she probably will agree to a lower sign up rate than (with the greatest respect) the bigger name stars and a give a younger viewpoint. Rowland and Barlow are good choices as they certainly have the experience.
Of course the complications don’t end there as Gary Barlow if he is the man for this show has Take That tour commitments pretty much very close to those first Birmingham auditions. So with the first auditions just days away and Cheryl Cole and her mobile switched off and no voicemail, things are looking a bit shaky for this years X Factor to put it mildly and verging on the pear shaped.
A Cheryl Cole emergency return can’t be ruled out if the viewer numbers start going into freefall which is looking a strong possibility but don’t hold your breath on that one. BUT Cheryl is one of those types who will disappear off the face of the planet for days or even weeks, chew things over and nurse her wounds then is big enough to forgive people on the return. Ashley Cole in the past being a case in point, that is something a lot of people wouldn’t have forgiven We think this situation is different though as it’s not an affair of the heart but more business and career and this just looks too big a thing for even Cheryl to forgive. Even if she does who’s to say the axe isn’t waved again for whatever the ridiculous reason is………………..the trust has gone?
Our views on this in summary. Bring Cheryl back.to the show, should have left her where she was and the show will not be the same without her if she doesn’t return. Changing 1 or 2 names in a panel is bad enough but 3 new judges that’s going to cause problems as deep down people don’t like radical violent changes and that will be reflected in viewer numbers, people will just switch off or switch over. If the BBC suddenly leap ahead on ratings for their show ahead of the X Factor then there will be panicking in the ITVand Cowell camp and this is the ITV cash cow make no mistake and Cheryl will have got her revenge and can simply say the word……. “See”!
Interesting times ahead?
