Actress Ashley Greene and other stars were at  the ‘Skateland’ film premiere last night  held at the Arclight Theater  in Hollywood. Other names included Julia Jones, Jaime King and Melinda McGraw and Shiloh Fernandez who has the lead role in this 80′s style film..

What’s Skateland  all about? According to IMDB it is simply this:

In the early 1980s, in a small-town in Texas, dramatic events force a 19-year-old skating rink manager to look at his life in a very new way.

Doesn’t sound that inspiring does it. Line up looks average as well? IMDB are giving it a rating of just 4 stars out of 10 which doesn’t look that great either. Can’t be that bad can it? Here’s what Daily Film Dose had to say in summary.

“Much like ‘The Runaways’ the film admirably coasts full steam ahead on a full tank of genuine nostalgia and enthusiasm for its bygone era”.  Get the full review at Dailyfilmdose.com it’s decent

Just one problem,  The Runaways didn’t do that well in the box office though, even with Kristen Stewart in it? Ending on a positive note if you are into 80′s music , by all accounts Blondie, Queen and other music from that era does feature strongly in this film. Still worth a look we think ,but with the current film crop out there at present we think this film could get buried in box office terms, which may not be the desired end result?
