The 2011 Comic Con is underway. This one is a huge event and really pulls in the stars and  the crowds and is currently happening at the Convention Centre in San Diego with Day 1 commencing yesterday and this event is set to finish on 24 July as mentioned on our Twitter yesterday. Events start on the day at 9.30am PT.  Rattling off a few names from day 1  includes  Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Charlize Theron and you see what we are talking about.  That’s for starters! If you are in San Diego or nearby it really is  a no brainer. Photos have been spewing out from this event all day long,  thought it best to wait till the Day 1 proceedings finished before doing an article and here it is.

The two main events that pulled in the crowds were the ‘In Time’ Film coverage event and panel that featured Justin Timberlake and his leading lady Amanda Seyfried for the showcasing of the trailer for this new Sci Fi offering. The film is about a race against time where humans stop ageing at 25 and are given just one year to live they then can exchange their remaining hours for goods and earn extra through work according to the Daily Mail. Rumer and The 2011 Mojo Awards London. Photos and Winners!

The Mojo Awards also known as the Mojo Honours list were held in the Brewery in London the same venue as the Kerrang Awards that were held a month or so ago. It’s run by Mojo the music magazine and has been around since 2004 and is a mixture of readers and critics voted awards and is one of the most respected awards from a music magazine.  Every year nominees and winners reflect the past year’s best new talent, alongside legendary and well-established artists.

Big star turn out for this one with some household names turning up going way back to the 70′s in some cases and of course modern day stars as well.

2011 Mojo Awards London Inside Arrivals

Classic and legendary names included Sir  Bob Geldof, Bobby Gillespie, Gary Numan, Martha Reeves,  Jimmy Page, Sandie Shaw, Phil Collins, Ringo Starr and Suzi Quatro. Rumer and John Grant both singer songwriters led the field with 3 nominations each and Sheffield band The Artic Monkeys were not far behind with 2 nods. These nods were confirmed with actual wins at the event and RIngo Starr was given the Icon Award while Brian Wilson was honoured with the Hall Of Fame Award. Full winners list below.

The 28th Annual MTV Music Video Awards have been announced recently and Katy Perry heads the gong nomination charge with 9 nods and why not we say. Adele is also in the running and not that far behind for her “Rolling In The Deep” vid. Eminem and Rihanna with “Love The Way You Lie” also is mentioned this year, an incredible song and video something that was rated highly on this site and has yet to be beaten.The event will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in LA on Aug. 28. at 9pm Pacific and 8pm Central Time. Important event this one not only in itself but it marks the early stages of the award season when things start to go just a little bit manic!

Jennifer Aniston was in London today for the European leg of her promo run for the film “Horrible Bosses” . This is a film that could do well in the box office considering it’s theme. If you hate your boss, this film is for you!  The photocall took place as per usual before the premiere (see our Twitter for pics) and the premiere then took place at the BFI Southbank. Jennifer Aniston is hitting the headlines for opting for a sexy black leather number for the photo call and she rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to red carpet presence and changed into a pearl number for the premiere event. She’s a bit like Kate Hudson on that count and has impeccable taste and matches her number to the film in question…spot on and every time! Other cast members present at the photo call included Kevin Spacey and Jason Bateman, but judging by the general vibe out there at present on the wires we are predicting Jennifer Aniston will be the main headline focus  in the celebrity media tomorrow so she grabs the headline without a doubt, the women usually do.

Another  film premiere featuring some decent names took place last night Stateside and that’s the ‘Crazy Stupid Love Premiere which was held on the East Coast in New York. Names such as Emma Stone, Julianne Moore, Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling graced their presence at what was billed as the World Premiere which took place at the Ziegfeld Theater in NYC. Some decent names in this film others include Kevin Bacon and Marisa Tomei of The Wrestler fame. As you’ve probably guessed it’s a comedy with a romantic slant…………. yes it’s another ‘rom com’ This one does look quite good though with something the lads can also get their teeth into and relate to .Emma Stone grabs the headline purely on photo count from the Getty photogs.

The Paramount Pictures and Marvel Comics ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ Los Angeles Premiere was held last night  at the El Capitan Theatre in LA and we have some decent names turning up for this one. Names that leapt out of the well stacked arrivals list included Robert Downey Jr, Samuel L Jackson, Amanda Righetti, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, rising star Hayley Atwell and of course not forgetting Vanessa Hudgens.

Vanessa grabs the headline although she does not star in this film as far as we are aware and it really should be Chris Evans as he plays Captain America but she was looking the serious biz on the night. Was just intrigued what that confident all knowing Hudgens smirk was all about on the red carpet, does she know something we don’t know?, . Bombshell headline in the making?, Maybe one of the photogs was a charm merchant?, Who knows but I’m sure we’ll find out soon?
