Actors Rhys Ifans  and Joely Richardson attended the premiere of ‘Anonymous’ during the 55th BFI London Film Festival which was held at the Empire Leicester Square  in London. Other names included the Director Roland Emmerich and Jamie Campbell Bower, Bonnie Wright and David Thewlis. See guest list at foot of this article for more stars. Rhys Ifans plays Shakespeare in this political period thriller and Joely Richardson plays the young Princess Elizabeth with Vanessa Redgrave playing the older Queen Elizabeth I.

Thandie Newton and the ‘Death and the Maiden” Press Night and After Party London. Photos!

Something different………… A bit of Theatre land! It’s good to see a big name Hollywood actress take to treading the boards and Thandie Newton has decided to take that route and lend her name to this production. After doing films where there is always a “Cut” and a “Take 2″ with Theatre there is none of that it’s live and it’s hard just like live music V studio recording.  Catherine Zeta Jones, Katie Holmes and Keira Knightley are amongst other stars who have returned to the boards to remind them what real acting is all about!

Thandie and  cast were at the Press Night and Curtain Call for the “Death and The Maiden”  at the Harold Pinter Theatre last night in Central London. Other cast members included Tom Goodman-Hill  and Anthony Calf who were also present at the event. Photos.

The 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Gala Presented By Starz was held last night at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on October 24, 2011 in Beverly Hills, California and yesss the names certainly turned out for this one. This event is watched closely as it’s the first in a long line for any signs and indications of a possible nod from the Academy Awards in 2012, not the best indicator but gives a reasonable idea of what will be buzzing in film circles as the awards season gathers momentum in the coming months.

These awards honor established Hollywood artists. This award’s criteria is based on the honoree’s body of work and/or a film that they have coming out this year. Of course other notable names at the event included George Clooney and beau Stacey Keibler, Anne Hathaway, Bryce Dallas Howard, Michele Williams, Quentin Tarantino, Rosie Huntington Whitely and Ewan McGregor to name just a few. Keira Knightley and ‘A Dangerous Method’ Premiere at the BFI London Film Festival!

A Dangerous Method had it’s premiere tonight 24 October during the 55th BFI London Film Festival and was held at the Odeon West End in London. Keira Knightley stole the show on the night in a sleeveless backless black and white number coupled with the slicked back look which has been getting the thumbs uo from the fashionistas. She’s been away a while but this film and event puts her firmly back on the map. The film  is a 2011 historical film directed by David Cronenberg and starring Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley and Vincent Cassel. Most of the stars including Director were present at the event.

Adele and the Q Awards 2011 London. Winners and Photos!

The Q Awards were held today 24 October at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, Central London and this event was held unusually at lunchtime.  There were plenty of very happy alcohol induced smiling faces at this event regardless of whether a gong was won or not.

Either way the Brit stars did turn out for this event and some big names at that including Chris Martin from Coldplay, the whole U2 Line up, Noel Gallagher of Oasis, Roger Taylor, Jessie J, Tine Tempah, Matt Cardle 2010 X Factor Winner, Ed Sheeran, Tom Meighan of The Kaiser Chiefs, Siouxsie Sioux of the legendary Siouxsie and The Banshees, Gary Barlow and more. Adele was unable to attend due to her recent vocal chord hemorrhage that resulted in her cancelling many tour dates a couple of weeks ago but she led the way in the gong wins and grabs the headline at this event.

Bruno Mars was on the UK X Factor Live results Show 3 last night performing his new single “Runaway Baby” to give the contestants a taste of what they can achieve. This American singer songwriter originally from Hawaii who comes from a musical family gets his inspiration from a large cross section of music including  artists such as Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson . Mars also incorporates reggae and Motown inspired sounds into his work to give his music it’s own distinctive style and vibe and might explain his huge success! 

Just The Way You Are and Grenade are probably his most successful songs to date reaching No1 in the singles charts of a number of countries around the world and gaining Gold and platinum status as well. His first studio album Doo Wops and Hooligans has reached Platinum Status in the US and UK and in other countries!
