It was a Taylor Swift night at the 2011 American Music Awards now in it’s 39th year which were held last night at the Nokia Theatre in LA. A star studded event that had some big names on the arrivals red carpet including names such as Selena Gomez,  Justin Bieber,  Katy Perry, Jenny McCarthy, Taylor Swift  and Nicki Minaj and many more. Florence + The Machine and new single ‘No Light, No Light’ Official Video and Verdict!

Florence + The Machine  has got a new single out called “No Light, No Light” which came out as a preview yesterday (we didn’t bother with that) and is out on full official video today and has been out about 6 hours at the time of writing on her official Vevo Channel. Is it any good?

This track is the second single to be released from the second album called  ‘Ceremonials’, which came out last month. It follows  ‘Shake It Out’, which came out in October which we reviewed previously and stated it was good but was an acquired taste in musical terms. Lets put this through the griller and see whether she is firing on all those 12 cylinders here?.

Cheryl Cole is not on X Factor anymore but she is still in the headlines. Interest seems to have moved from her love life to her music career and with the BBC Children in Need Rocks event minus her presence as she apparently pulled out, what is actually going down in the land of Cheryl. Is she just sitting at hone drinking tea and eating hob nobs or are other things happening?

It looks like “tea and hob nobs” is not on the agenda at the moment as new photos of the raunchier but arty black and white variety look to be going down and have just surfaced of Cheryl posing for a new magazine simply called “Hunger” sporting what looks like those 3D sunglasses you get in cinemas?. The BBC Children In Need Rocks Manchester Live event was held tonight 17 November at  The Manchester Evening News (MEN) Arena in Manchester and was broadcast live and some big names were at this event. Names included Jessie J, James Morrison, Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol. The now infamous Pudsey was also of course present in many forms. Angelina Jolie and her directorial debut “in the Land of Blood and Honey” a closer look!

Even in this day and age there are still not that many female film directors out there, it’s a tough and challenging job but this situation seems to be changing very gradually with names such as Madonna and Drew Barrymore being names that spring to mind who have decided to get on the other side of the camera and be the captain of the ship rather than one of the crew.

Angelina Jolie is yet another name that looks to be joining this growing list and a natural choice we would say she is.  She’s been acting for many years now and is known for taking on varying and challenging roles and maybe directing is the way she plans to go forward in the future? Angelina Jolie’s feature directorial debut is called “In the Land of Blood and Honey” a love story set against the background of the Bosnian War  and the trailer for this film was released a couple of weeks ago.
