Calle 13 managed to dominate the 12th Annual Latin Grammy awards held last night at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Calle 13 made up of René Pérez Joglar, a.k.a. Residente, Eduardo Cabra Martínez, a.k.a. Visitante and Ileana Cabra Joglar, a.k.a PG-13 are a family affair covering genres including Urban, Hip hop, Latin, Alternative Hip hop and are from San Juan in Puerto Rico.

The group prior to this event so far has won nineteen Latin Grammy Awards and they hold the record for most Latin Grammy wins. They have also won 2 Grammy Awards. You could say they are the Shakira of Latin Hip Hop. Other notable winners were Shakira with Best Female Vocal Pop album for her “Sale El Sol” album and Franco DeVita won the Best Male Vocal Pop Album. Best new act went to Sie7e. Anything else of note was pretty much sown up by Calle 13 as illustrated in the winners list!
