The London Film Critics’ Circle Awards 2012 were held last night at The BFI Southbank in Central London honouring those in British Film. Carey Mulligan stole the show on the red carpet along with other names in attendance including Barry Norman, Donald Sutherland, Jean Dujardin, Kenneth Branagh, Michael Fassbender, Michel Hazanavicius and Nicolas Roeg. These awards are voted by more than 120 critics, broadcasters and writers from the UK so they carry some weight. Predictably The Artist seemed to dominate the proceedings yet again. This film has Weinstein Co stamped all over it and they do seem to know how to make a decent film that not only pleases the critics but swells the box office numbers as well…………..and that’s what it’s all about!
