You may have wondered why it was so quiet here yesterday, this is why, the calm before the storm that is New York Fashion Week officially known as Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall 2012. This  monster event has started with things kicking off yesterday but officially the designers parade their wares on 9 February as in today onwards.  This event runs for a week or so and this will pull in the female stars in particular who flock to this in their droves in a manic fashion, make no mistake..

The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection is a yearly feature and a bit of an institution within this event kicked things off and this is where celebrities from all backgrounds and ages don a red dress (no other colour allowed)  from a certain designer and strut their stuff on the New York Fashion Week catwalk to set the tone and vibe. 

All in the aid of charity that being The Heart Truth which is a campaign meant to raise awareness of the risk of heart disease in women. Names such as Hilary Duff, Fergie of BEP, Lindsay Lohan, Venus Williams and Kim Kardashian have lent their presence in the past amongst many others with this event starting in 2003

So who was on the runway? A quick scan on the runway list sees names such as Christie Brinkley, Chaka Khan, Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Nettles, Minka Kelly, Patti Stranger, Rebecca Romjin and Rose McGowan. There were more, further details at foot of this article.
