Adele totally cleans up at the 2012 Grammy Awards. The Winners, Acceptance Speech and Press Room Photos!

Adele 2012 Grammy Awards Acceptance Speech

Fame Fad and probably a lot of other Brit showbiz style sites have been on standby waiting for the results of the Grammy awards this year.  This year is  particularly relevant due to the fact that Adele was given 5 nods and leading the pack against some very serious competition. Would she pull it off or come back with the not unheard of 0 awards out of 5 nominations.

Personally the awards that I felt Adele had to win regardless of the competition were her album 21 her song from that album “Someone Like You” and most importantly of all Best Female Artist which equates to the Best Solo Performance gong that’s the one she needed to win. This woman was apparently the top search of 2011 on the major search engines and was top search also on this site by a huge margin something that can be said now as that tidal wave has passed for competitor reasons but not at the time. 3 gongs that had to be hers to reward her for the talent that she has, that’s not asking too much and that’s what we had her pencilled in for! Would the Grammy Awards be thinking along the same lines is the question on the night?

So how did it pan out?    Best Pop Vocal Album for her album 21, Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “Someone Like You”,  Song of the Year for ‘Rolling in the Deep’, Record of the Year for her  ‘Rolling in the Deep’again and Album of the Year for ’21′. That’s 5 awards, repeat 5 which equals that special night when the late Amy Winehouse also flew the British flag and claimed a similar huge amount. I remember that night, she was in Camden at the time! Do like the Grammy’s they sure have taste and do know talent when they see it and they reward it accordingly…….and big time………….as it should be!

Do we have an acceptance speech video of Adele at the 2012 Grammy Awards? Of course. Video

Well earned awards these for Adele and especially when you look at the names she beat in the Best Pop Solo Performance category including Lady Gaga, ‘You & I’; Bruno Mars, ‘Grenade’;  Katy Perry, ‘Firework’ and Pink, ‘F—in’ Perfect’ all top quality names.

So with Adele claiming the lions share of the gong wins who else was left with anything to claim. Taylor Swift had a good night flying the Country Music flag and came away with  2 gongs including Best Country Solo Performance for her song ‘Mean and also Best Country Song. Kanye west flew the Rap flag and came away with two awards for that genre and Skrillex rocked the Dance Genre claiming two gongs there beating off David Guetta on two counts. Bon Iver caught the eye of the Grammy’s and nailed the Best Newcomer award.
