The Brit Awards 2012 are being held at the o2 Arena and it’s all about the awards and the show and performances but the red carpet arrivals is also very much where it’s at. Film award style events tend to lean towards the posher end of the spectrum in dress code terms, TV awards events are in the middle but music awards…………………………..anything goes and the stars let rip at these sort of events and take a gamble. Risque numbers, shockingly bright colours and stuff verging on fancy dress are not off limits. Not always the case though,  some years can look a bit tame but generally speaking music awards promise a bolder colour spectrum in red carpet fashion stakes

There’s been a bit of Brit Awards buzz today in London and with the huge line up of stars set to perform live at this event with Rihanna, Ed Sheeran and Adele to name a just a couple, it promises to be a belter.

The 2012 Brit Awards is a big event on a par with something like the National TV Awards held recently, so who was on the red carpet? First off a photog analysis basically ranking who was on the red carpet and the number of photos taken as in amount of interest from the photogs at the event, a good indicator on who was cutting it in red carpet terms. Here’s the tops!

General vibe on the red carpet this year was a full length dress with a sexy twist. Rihanna nails it by quite a margin in a gold full length number, the new blonde look, gloves up to her armpits (nearly) and the all important back and front splits to add a bit of spice,sexy but classy and oozing style.  She’s the red carpet winner no question about it.

Jessie J is next up with the big hair look and a see through full length number with underwear showing through something that Fergie rocked recently at another awards event as in the Grammy’s only in orange. Florence Welch played it safe with a pastel number and looked OK, Kylie Minogue went for powder blue with a side split and she got it right on the nighty.

Cher Lloyd totally broke the full length dress look for this event and went with a black and purple trouser catsuit number with slicked back hair. Did she pull it off…..the jury is out on that one but we do like the hair it suits her well, 10/10 for not following the pack though? Pixie Lott opted for a black full length number and rocking yet another new hairdo maybe but she’s certainly got taste and style when it comes to the red carpet……………..not sure about that cape thing though.

Fearne Cotton again did a Cher Lloyd and thought sod the full length dress, spring is round the corner, black and white and a short number, slap those heels on and job done. Very nice indeed. Check out th pap photos earlier today in a previous article, the difference is staggering. Moving onto Adele, isn’t she wearing the exact same dress as at the Grammy’s. No Surely not……….she’s wearing it for luck………….that must be it????
