Actress Helen Mirren attended the premiere of Walt Disney Pictures’  ‘John Carter’ held at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live  last night in Los Angeles. Other names in attendance included Lynn Collins, Alexa Vega, Taylor Kitsch and James Purefoy (grab full guest list at foot).

This film is billed as an epic science fantasy film and has The Walt Disney stamp on it and is based on the Novel The “Princess of Mars” featuring John Carter. A closer look is needed. Check out the red carpet shots below with Helen Mirren sporting a futuristic new look barnet!

The Plot:
Former Confederate captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch) is mysteriously transported to Mars (“Barsoom”) where he becomes part of a conflict between the various nations of the planet, whose leaders include Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). The Critics:
Limited information in connection with independent reviews at the time of writing. Rotten Tomatoes have no reviews as of yet but apparently 93% of people want to see this film. The credentials are certainly there is all we can say about!

The Release:
Film is scheduled for release on March 9th 2012. The original release date was June 2012, that normally bodes well for a good film…………. but not always.
