What’s going to be happening this Diamond Jubilee Weekend at Fame Fad? It’s going to be a play it by ear weekend, as I’m writing this true to Brit form it’s raining in London and the forecast for that massive boat cavalcade down the Thames on Sunday is a complete washout apparently, but weather forecasters don’t always get it right.
There’s other things going on Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday and the weather may be better on those days. I’m off for 4 days so not involved in anyway with these Royal events (need a break) so any pics from me look to be limited at present and of a more personal nature if I do venture out, but we’ll have something here on this site to commemerate this special event in some shape or form via me or third party sources. Apparently only Queen Victoria has managed to reach this Royal milestone and have an event like this……………..and whether you are a fan of the Royals (not the Royles) or not, this really is a once in a lifetime thing where all eyes around the world will be on this town and it will be in YOUR face whether you like it or not.
To keep Fame Fad visitors occupied I will be launching our Flickr account this weekend currently just a personal account but may go Pro in the coming months as there could be just a few pictures on here. It’s been out there a while with just some test shots taken on the mobile just to put it on the map (The Pixie Lott one is a terrible shot deomnstrating how to get it wrong) but I’ll leave them on there for people to laugh at. Have got another account on the cards somewhere else but that is a pro account.
Photos of a slightly more professional nature will be uploaded over the weekend including a mass from the 2012 Glamour Women of the Year Awards including loads of male stars that didn’t feature in the 3 articles earlier this week as it was a female star event. Took over 300 photos at that event the vast majority were keepers (about 90%) so quite a few will be on Flickr. Most of these photos are of presss standard and are copyright the owner as in ME. They have been uploaded days after the event for that exact reason as they are now merely archive as opposed to current headline news grade. They will be right click disabled and not available for free download although a couple that are slightly off but still good may be available as Creative Commons photos as in free of charge but attribution with link pointing back to me being the requirement. There’s ways round this I know but I’ll let your conscience do the talking and look yourself in the mirror the following day if you decide to take that route! Also some further snaps from the Prometheus Premiere in London held on Thursday night will be added to this Fame Fad Flickr Account which are good but not of press standard..
Our Tumblr Blog will also have some more photos added over the weekend. This blog hasn’t been updated since this time last year. It’s what I call our reject photo blog featuring photos that are technically not up to the mark such as compositional errors, exposure errors, focusing errors, red eye issues, a rubbish bin in the background or sometimes just expression or posing not quite right. Some have been popular and they are yours for the grabbing. All these photos with a lot of effort can be marginally corrected in Photoshop or similar but they are JPEG photos ( I shoot in JPEG only at fast paced events) and not RAW files so your latitude for creative adjustment is limited, hence why they are there. If you use these photos just give us a mention and link back (easily done in Tumblr) and they are yours for Free, Gratis and No Charge and most importantly NO Catch. It’s just a little Thank You to Fame Fad regulars! Sample of that sort of photo below, Kelly Rowland Close Up overexposed and not up to the mark but may be of interest to Kelly Rowland fans and can be tweaked.
Finally onto Lily Allen and why is she mentioned in the headline? Lily is currently expecting and we haven’t seen her for a long time due to that fact, BUT she was at The 2012 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday this week and was the only pregnant woman there! I thought that was something a bit special! I got a couple of shots of her that I felt were good and would reveal these after the event otherwise she would have been just one of many that turned up at the awards. Very difficult to photograph her she looked like she wanted to just get out of the car, quick wave and head in, but managed to get this shot of her after much screaming. She was heading in but she did turn round in my direction (can’t remember what I said but it did the trick) and managed to get a full on shot. It’s just such a nice shot and expression although technically slightly off (focus just a shade out) due to her catching me out (wasn’t expecting her to turn round), this is basically a hair trigger knee jerk reaction shot.
Updates at Fame Fad as have been mentioned in the updates recently are minimal at present on this site as I’m working on a large contract made up of a quantity of different ongoing projects, just have no time at present (2 hours sleep after the Glamour Women of the Year Awards), not much more after the Prometheus Premiere. Normal service should return Mid 2012 about June/July time and this site will be changing format in content terms at that time. Fame Fad is in a sort of chrysallis stage at the moment
Watch for further news and have a good weekend people!
