The Team GB London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic’s Parade took place today 10 September and of course I was there. Further details and photos below.
Date: 10 September 2012
Location: Central London
Route: Started Mansion House in the City and headed to the Mall via St Paul’s, Fleet St, Trafalgar Square and finishing on the Mall with a Red Arrow Fly past after the finish
Start: Time 1.30pm
Shoot: Location St Paul’s Cathedral as a backdrop. It doesn’t get any better than that!
Arrived: About 11am and had a front row spot
Parade Arrived: Just before 2pm at St Paul’s
Floats: 21
Athletes: Over 700 including medal winners and non medal winners
Who was there? Mo Farah lead the parade on Float 1 doing the Mobot. Other highlights included Jessica Ennis and pretty much 90% of the Team GB from the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics
Camera: Fuji S602 on Aperture Priority
Flash: None. Available light only!
Weather: Sun then cloudy the showers then cloudy then sunny. Usual London stuff but stayed dry for the parade.
Crowds: Huge…….. on the street, hanging out of office windows, on roof tops, everywhere!
Noise: Lots of screaming, Mexican Waves and Team GB shouting and of course Union Jack Waving!
Were they wearing their medals? Of course!
Photo Licencing: All photos copyright Fame Fad.
Photo Quality: Reduced quality size only and not the originals
Didn’t get shots of? Sir Chris Hoy, Mo Farah, Bradley Wiggins and Victoria Pendleton plus many others as some were on the other side of the float with their back to me. Got Ellie Simmonds but a scaffolding bar obscured her face. May include tomorrow as she was one of the leading lights of the Olympics and is such a character and inspiration.
A few photos below, more photos with full names and further editorial to come on Tuesday.
