The Hyde Park on Hudson Film Premiere was held last night at the Empire cinema in Leicester Square as part of the 56th London BFI Film Festival. The film stars Bill Murray along with Olivia Williams and Laura Linney.

Further film premiere event details below.

Event: 56th BFI London Film Festival Hyde Park on Hudson Premiere

Location: Empire Leicester Square, London

Time: Arrivals started at about 6pm

Guest List:Bill Murray (always remembered for his role in Ghostbusters) was the star of the show. No Olivia Williams or Laura Linney who co star in this production. Bill Murray decided to arrive in style in an open top classic car. Other guests included Sam West, Ralph Fiennes and  James Schamus. (not photographed)

Weather: Magnificent blazing sunshine setting just before the red carpet arrivals but a chilly breeze.

Crowds: 250-350 at a guess: The Hare Krishna crowd seemed to be on form and hanging around banging drums and chanting  a bit longer than usual. Maybe they are Bill Murray fans.

Press Photogs: About a dozen in the pen which is low.

Red Carpet Colour: No strange colours here. Just classic red

Position: diagonally opposite the cinema entrance about 35 feet from the front door. Proved bizarrely to be a difficult spot to get any good shots even right from the barrier railings. Not looking promising. Sandwiched with crowds behind so stuck in this spot. Rapidly looking like we could draw a spectacular blank here.

Arrived: 5pm

Left: 7pm

Shots: A mere 8 photos and 6 keepers spanning about 10 seconds max. Took more test shots than that!Basically involved looking at Bill Murray’s back for 15 minutes whilst being interviewed with finger on the trigger waiting for him to turn round and get to the shot whilst saying “Gotcha”

Camera: Regular Canon 30d. Aperture Priority at about f5.6 for the 8 shots

Flash: Yes Now until March time in the evenings.. Simple bracket mounted manual flash at 1/4 power direct with no bounce, no gels, no diffusers..none of that stuff
