Part 2 of the 2012 Cosmopolitan Ultimate Woman of the Year Awards which were held at the V & A Museum in Knightsbridge last night in London.
Kimberley Walsh looked good on the night and is headline news at present what with Girls Aloud back in the fray with tours and new music being released to celebrate a decade in the music business and she’s also on Strictly Come Dancing and has been setting the dance floor alight there proving she has the moves as well.

Weather: Bright and cloudy with the temperature dropping sharply as the sun went down replaced by a lovely full moon.
Press Photogs: About 30 who photographed inside the event.
Red Carpet Colour: Shocking pink just outside the V & A entrance and concrete paving slabs for the arrivals. Knightsbridge one’s of course!
Crowds: Surprisingly low about 20-30 but it was chilly.
Position: In the photog pen opposite the public area in the corner at the far end for a bit of peace and quiet as there were a few paps around hovering as they do. Thought they would probably stay at the other end of the pen machine gunning near where the stars were getting out of the car leaving me to cherry pick in a slower manner at the other end. That idea didn’t work!
Shots: 93 photos and a massive 95% keepers
Style: Ditched the photojournalist candid approach and treated this as a fashion shoot in a studio as if the shots were going to appear in Cosmo. That seemed to do the trick.
Camera: Usual Canon 30D with 50mm f1.8 lens, dinky little lens hood in aperture Priority. Nice and lightweight for a DSLR anyway.
Flash: Manual at 1/4 power at f6.7 aperture. This setting never changed and 1/250 shutter speed. Shot in JPEG only and no RAW.
Problems: Camera seized up for about 3 minutes right in the middle of a mass of arrivals. Tried everything but nothing was working. Changed the flash batteries..nothing. Removed the camera batteries and reinserted……BINGO!
