Was just thinking yesterday that nearly every man and his dog is down here at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, anybody that is anybody is here, surely a top socialite such as Kim Kardashian wouldn’t miss out on a fame magnet event like this……surely? Come to think of it this would be right up Paris Hilton’s Boulevard as well? . Lo and behold, no sooner has that thought passed through the mind, KK has been spotted arriving at Cannes with Paris Hilton hot on her heels (or is it the other way round).
Paparazzi photos from the local paps taken on Day 7 at the Cannes Film Festival include the aforementioned Kim Kardashian, the headline stealing Brad Pitt (minus Jolie it was noted) who was there for the Killing Them Softly Premiere along with Adrien Brody, Karolina Kurkova, Kirsten Dunst, Kristen Stewart, Milla Jovovich, Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton and not forgetting the infamous Scott McNairy. The 2012 Cannes Film Festival is underway! Stars arrived en masse for the Opening Night Gala Dinner during the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival which was held at the Electrolux Agora Pavilion yesterday May 16 in Cannes, France and do we have some names here? We certainly do! A quick scan of the guest list produces names such as Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Diane Kruger, Eva Herzigova, Ewan McGregor, Freida Pinto, Harvey Weinstein (had to be there naturally), Jane Fonda, Jessica Chastain, Lana Del Ray, Phoebe Price, Tilda Swinton and last but not least Bingbing Fan! That’s for starters.
When you think of red carpets Cannes and The Academy Awards are probably the top events that leap out for the most impact. For us here, Eva Longoria stole the show on the day in no uncertain terms with a dress and train to match that took up half the red carpet ensuring no other stars even got a look in. Classic! Diane Kruger seemed to be doing it for the photogs and came out as the most photographed at the event. Eva was doing it for us (as always) and stole the headline. A busy weekend in New York and also Washington D.C with a mass of celebrities spotted in Manhattan and the political capital either in casual style or dressed up going to events.
Two big events were on over the weekend including The Avengers Premiere marking the last day of the Tribeca Film Festival 2012 in New York and even bigger was the 98th annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner held at the Washington Hilton. Further details below.

The British soap Awards 2012 were held tonight (28 April) in Central London at the ITV Studios. With the London weather doing it’s best to rain on the parade of The British Soap Awards 2012 it didn’t exactly look like the night to hold a red carpet event. This didn’t stop the stars of British Soap TV getting glammed up for this TV red carpet spectacular that is one of the highlights in the Brit TV events showbiz calendar.
With the soap staples such as Hollyoaks, Eastenders,Coronation Street, Doctors and Emmerdale all in the running for picking up this years gongs naturally the stars from these shows were in attendance.
Prince William and Catherine Duchess of Cambridge attended the Royal UK premiere of African Cats which was held in aid of Tusk. Matthew Williamson was the design chosen by Kate for this red carpet event one of her favourites we note, and as always impeccable was the result. Trying to think of a time when she was less than impeccable since her wedding. Still thinking! She’s got what I call “the shine” that certain quality that sets her apart from the masses and that shines so brightly from within, just like the late Princess Diana. A people person.
