The British Fashionista Awards the final Hot 5. Some surprises, some names you would expect, some bolt out of blue, it’s all here, but they all have one thing in common, they know fashion, they turn heads and they are watched closely. These are women that made a big impression on me throughout 2014 or maybe just the once for their look and fashion prowess. You could say it’s a fashionista list with a photographic bias. To be on the List of 25 you have to have something special going on. To be in the Top 5 you have to be consistently exceptional.
What makes a top 25 Fashionista at the Fame Fad British Fashionista Awards?
1. Individual style
2. Trend Setting
4. Mass market influence and appeal
5. Head turning
7. Boundary pushing to acceptable limits
8. Respected and closely watched by the media and fashion circles.
9. Idea Generators
10. Leaders not followers
11. Confidence to rock their look
12.Elegance, sophistication, chic and panache
13. Never looking like they are trying too hard too achieve all of the above.
A lot of names have not made it onto this list such as Michelle Keegan, Myleene Klass, Kate Moss (I still have no photos of her), Marina Diamandis and many others. This originally was a Top 20 then stretched to a 25 because of the names involved. If it was a Top 30 the above names would be in and Kate Moss would be in the Top 3 for sure, but this is the Top 25. So who are the final HOT 5?
Ella Eyre arrives at the British Fashion Awards 2014 London
No 1 Ella Eyre: Ella Eyre straight in and claims the No 1 spot at our British Fashionista Awards. Why? After photographing her on numerous occassions it has to be said she rocks completely different looks across the fashion board with an air of ease and confidence. Variety, style amd panache, she can do safe and tame and boundary pushing easily but always keeps her trademark hairstyle as the constant. Very new and fresh in celebrity terms, she’s a music star but has fashion sense and style here that puts her up there and ahead of the great names in this fashionista list. In my opinion she trumped them all in 2014 with a deadly consistency that suggests she has been in the celebrity/fashion game for a long time when indeed she has not. Keep an eye on this one in 2015!
Daisy Lowe and Celebrity Spotting London Fashion Week 13 September 2014
No 2 Daisy Lowe: Daisy Lowe is the boundary pusher in this line up. Cut off denim shorts and big black boots was here trade mark for some time often with black tights underneath. Daisy Lowe did, others followed en mass. This is the lady to watch for ideas you would never think of in a million years. The photo above is living testament to that fact. Who can rock a look like this and get away with it……………Daisy Lowe with her cheeky confidence? If you want to turn heads and be the talk of the town for all the right reasons, better watch Daisy! She’s a tom boy at heart but can turn heads on the red carpet with her feminine ways. Difficult to ignore but then why would you?
Fearne Cotton arrives at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards 2014, London
N0 3 Fearne Cotton. Fearne is the fashion magician in this list. She puts together the ordinary and creates something extraordinary. Something quite a lot in this list would struggle to do on a daily, weekly, monthly basis with consistent results and with an infectious confidence that has other people following her fashion moves. Closely watched in fashion circles and the media, her ideas have influence and send shock waves through the fashion masses. Gold with black stars and matching nail varnish. Simple but deadly and so Fearne!
Tamara Ecclestone at the Formula 1 Pre Party at the V & A Museum Kensington, London
No 4 Tamara Ecclestone. The high society fashionista in the line up with impeccable taste. Daughter of Bernie Ecllestone the owner of Formula 1, a multi billion pound business, you could say she has enough money to surround herself with the best fashion stylists and advisers that money can buy. But as has been seen many times money cannot guarantee fashion success. Something else is needed and this woman has it. Diamond encrusted strappy heels? More than likely but she has the look, confidence and class to pull it off! I don’t think I’ve ever seen this one never less than impeccably dressed
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (Cheryl) arrives at BBC Radio 1
No5 Cheryl Fernandez Versini. Cheryl has many aspects to her fashion look and persona with music performance, red carpet, tv appearance and casual styles all having their own look. She has many fashion pressures. She leans towards the Pixie Lott girly look but can shock especially in her live music attire and go completely the other way causing a whirlwind of mutterings in the media and fashion circles. She doesn’t care though, she’ll push those fashion boundaries, an important aspect of being a leading fashionista and with her stunning looks always saving the day no matter what she wears.
