Massive celebrations are underway for the Queens Diamond Jubilee for her reign of 60 years across the country and London was the main staging area yesterday, with the Thames Pageant being the highlight on Sunday and acting as a beacon to the rest of the nation with street parties across the country running into 4 figures despite the weather. Apparently nothing has been seen like this Pageant on the Thames for over 300 years. Queen Victoria is the only other monarch to reach this 60 year milestone All once in a lifetime stuff.
The BBC did a superb coverage of the event complete with rain splattered cameras adding that extra reality to the British weather that was prevalent throughout most of the event but in true Brit style things carried on regardless and the Diamond Jubilee celebrations spirit was not dampened in the slightest.

Prince William and Catherine Duchess of Cambridge attended the Royal UK premiere of African Cats which was held in aid of Tusk. Matthew Williamson was the design chosen by Kate for this red carpet event one of her favourites we note, and as always impeccable was the result. Trying to think of a time when she was less than impeccable since her wedding. Still thinking! She’s got what I call “the shine” that certain quality that sets her apart from the masses and that shines so brightly from within, just like the late Princess Diana. A people person.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were unveiled today at Madam Tussauds in London………..in wax form……….. it looks like these are very good and pretty close to the real thing, unlike some others I’ve seen that look….well…a bit waxy.. The pressure must have been on to get these right!.
The royal couple are in a pose and setting taken from the day of their engagement announcement at St James’s Palace, with William standing with his hands in front of him ala Royal style and Kate in her blue Issa dress smiling in that Kate way with the happy news.

The UK Premiere of ‘War Horse’ was held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London tonight 8 January and this is a Steven Spielberg directed film that is causing a bit of a stir in media and film circles, with some serious rumours surrounding this film regarding Oscar Nods and not just one nod either.
Whether it does get nominated heavily or not remains to be seen, but with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in attendance for this event, this film you could say is being given the Royal seal of approval, something that the Academy Awards cannot really ignore as they don’t turn up for just any old film. Naturally the director Steven Spielberg was in attendance and naturally Kate Middleton stole the show again looking very much a Duchess with very little effort. No surprises there though!
